PAGE: Prompt Augmentation for text Generation Enhancement

In recent years, natural language generative models have shown outstanding performance in text generation tasks. However, when facing specific tasks or particular requirements, they may exhibit poor performance or require adjustments that demand large amounts of additional data. This work introduces PAGE (Prompt Augmentation for text Generation Enhancement), a framework designed to assist these models through the use of simple auxiliary modules. These modules, lightweight models such as classifiers or extractors, provide inferences from the input text. The output of these auxiliaries is then used to construct an enriched input that improves the quality and controllability of the generation. Unlike other generation-assistance approaches, PAGE does not require auxiliary generative models; instead, it proposes a simpler, modular architecture that is easy to adapt to different tasks. This paper presents the proposal, its components and architecture, and reports a proof of concept in the domain of requirements engineering, where an auxiliary module with a classifier is used to improve the quality of software requirements generation.

Early Detection of Risks (EDR) on the Web involves identifying at-risk users as early as possible. Although Large Language Models (LLMs) have proven to solve various linguistic tasks efficiently, assessing their reasoning ability in specific domains is crucial. In this work, we propose a method for solving depression-related EDR using LLMs on Spanish texts, with responses that can be interpreted by humans. We define a reasoning criterion to analyze users through a specialist, apply in-context learning to the Gemini model, and evaluate its performance both quantitatively and qualitatively. The results show that accurate predictions can be obtained, supported by explanatory reasoning, providing a deeper understanding of the solution. Our approach offers new perspectives for addressing EDR problems by leveraging the power of LLMs.


Visual-tactile manipulation to collect household waste in outdoor

This work presents a perception system applied to robotic manipulation, that is able to assist in navigation, household waste classification and collection in outdoor environments. This system is made up of optical tactile sensors, RGBD cameras and a LiDAR. These sensors are integrated on a mobile platform with a robot manipulator and a robotic gripper. Our system is divided in three software modules, two of them are vision-based and the last one is tactile-based. The vision-based modules use CNNs to localize and recognize solid household waste, together with the grasping points estimation. The tactile-based module, which also uses CNNs and image processing, adjusts the gripper opening to control the grasping from touch data. Our proposal achieves localization errors around 6 %, a recognition accuracy of 98% and ensures the grasping stability the 91% of the attempts. The sum of runtimes of the three modules is less than 750 ms.
