stripper
These L.A. strippers won a union. But the dance isn't over
Dancers outside encourage people to enter the coral pink building and spend their money on a hot August night. Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello croons union songs and strums his guitar. Striking actors and writers whoop and cheer as they line up at the door. "If you're prepared to go to the club tonight, please do so," says a dancer who goes by the stage name Velveeta. She speaks through a megaphone.

Top CES tech reveals include robot dogs, foldable television
Who let the dog out? Sony rolled out a much cuter -- and more sophisticated -- Aibo robot dog on Tuesday, and it came off acting and moving a lot more like a real canine. The Japanese electronics giant retired the original Aibo in 2006 and went back to the lab to develop a 2.0 version. The one displayed at CES 2018 here has a new design that features expressive LED eyes and a vastly expanded range of movement, and is able to learn new tricks through real-world training. It is currently available only in Japan, but for roughly $1,760 and perhaps a little web magic, you can be the coolest person at the neighborhood dog park.

Pole-dancing robots appear in Las Vegas to spice up CES
Robots created from scrap may not seem like they would make for the sexiest strippers, but one visionary sculptor has made it his mission to create alluring pole-dancers from rubbish. The android adult entertainers are the creation of a British artist who says they are a comment on the nature of surveillance, power and voyeurism. With a head formed from a jettisoned surveillance camera and bodies built using mannequins and car parts, there is little risk of anyone confusing these bots with the genuine article, however. They were brought in to entertain the crowds descending on Las Vegas this week for the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show. They may grind and gyrate around a pole with moves like a real stripper, but these robotic dancers are unlikely to replace human performers anytime soon.
