Cloning isn't just for celebrity pets like Tom Brady's dog
Yes, you can pay $50,000 to clone a pet. But others are using the technology to rescue endangered species. This week, we heard that Tom Brady had his dog cloned. The former quarterback revealed that his Junie is actually a clone of Lua, a pit bull mix that died in 2023. Brady's announcement follows those of celebrities like Paris Hilton and Barbra Streisand, who also famously cloned their pet dogs. But some believe there are better ways to make use of cloning technologies.

Barbra Streisand Called the CEO of Apple Because Siri Pronounces Her Name Wrong
Barbra Streisand is really tired of people mispronouncing her name – especially Siri. Entertainment legend Barbra Streisand has a bone to pick with Apple's automated personal assistant, Siri. Streisand told NPR's Scott Simon that Siri pronounces her name wrong during an episode of "Weekend Edition Saturday." Simon demonstrated this on the air by asking Siri, "Who's the only female vocalist who's had hit records for six straight decades?" Siri responded, "Barbra Streisand," pronouncing the second "s" like a "z." "Streisand, with a soft's,' like sand on the beach," Streisand corrected exasperatedly.
Barbra Streisand Was Annoyed Siri Got Her Name Wrong. So She Got Tim Cook to Fix It
Singer Barbra Streisand doesn't have a great history when it comes to shaping her representation on new technology, but she has now scored at least one major victory. Streisand was irked at the fact that Siri, Apple's virtual assistant for iPhone and iPad users, was not pronouncing her name correctly. So she called Apple CEO Tim Cook directly, and he promised he would fix the problem. Siri will apparently soon say "Streisand" without pronouncing the second "s" hard, like a "z." "She pronounces my name wrong," Streisand told NPR. "'Streisand' with a soft's' like sand on a beach--I've been saying this for my whole career." "I called the head of Apple, Tim Cook, and he delightfully agreed to have Siri change the pronunciation of my name finally, with the next update on September 30. Let's see if that happens, because I will be thrilled."
Barbra Streisand teaches Siri a lesson
A tweak to Siri's pronunciation of Barbra Streisand's name will be heading to Apple products soon. The US singer complained the virtual assistant was pronouncing her surname wrong. "I called the head of Apple, Tim Cook, and he delightfully agreed to have Siri change the pronunciation of my name, finally," she said on Weekend Edition. Streisand said the second syllable of her name should be pronounced with "a soft S, like sand on the beach". "So let's see if that happens, because I will be thrilled," Streisand told the US show on Saturday.
