Semantic-Aware Cooperative Communication and Computation Framework in Vehicular Networks

Abstract--Semantic Communication (SC) combined with V e-hicular edge computing (VEC) provides an efficient edge task processing paradigm for Internet of V ehicles (IoV). Focusing on highway scenarios, this paper proposes a Tripartite Cooperative Semantic Communication (TCSC) framework, which enables V e-hicle Users (VUs) to perform semantic task offloading via V ehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) and V ehicle-to-V ehicle (V2V) communications. Considering task latency and the number of semantic symbols, the framework constructs a Mixed-Integer Nonlinear Programming (MINLP) problem, which is transformed into two subproblems. First, we innovatively propose a multi-agent proximal policy optimization task offloading optimization method based on parametric distribution noise (MAPPO-PDN) to solve the optimization problem of the number of semantic symbols; second, linear programming (LP) is used to solve offloading ratio. Simulations show that performance of this scheme is superior to that of other algorithms.
CNN-Enabled Scheduling for Probabilistic Real-Time Guarantees in Industrial URLLC

Ensuring packet-level communication quality is vital for ultra-reliable, low-latency communications (URLLC) in large-scale industrial wireless networks. We enhance the Local Deadline Partition (LDP) algorithm by introducing a CNN-based dynamic priority prediction mechanism for improved interference coordination in multi-cell, multi-channel networks. Unlike LDP's static priorities, our approach uses a Convolutional Neural Network and graph coloring to adaptively assign link priorities based on real-time traffic, transmission opportunities, and network conditions. Assuming that first training phase is performed offline, our approach introduced minimal overhead, while enabling more efficient resource allocation, boosting network capacity, SINR, and schedulability. Simulation results show SINR gains of up to 113\%, 94\%, and 49\% over LDP across three network configurations, highlighting its effectiveness for complex URLLC scenarios.
Search Is Not Retrieval: Decoupling Semantic Matching from Contextual Assembly in RAG

Retrieval systems are essential to contemporary AI pipelines, although most confuse two separate processes: finding relevant information and giving enough context for reasoning. We introduce the Search-Is-Not-Retrieve (SINR) framework, a dual-layer architecture that distinguishes between fine-grained search representations and coarse-grained retrieval contexts. SINR enhances the composability, scalability, and context fidelity of retrieval systems by directly connecting small, semantically accurate search chunks to larger, contextually complete retrieve chunks, all without incurring extra processing costs. This design changes retrieval from a passive step to an active one, making the system architecture more like how people process information. We discuss the SINR framework's conceptual foundation, formal structure, implementation issues, and qualitative outcomes. This provides a practical foundation for the next generation of AI systems that use retrieval.
Koopman-based Prediction of Connectivity for Flying Ad Hoc Networks

Abstract--The application of machine learning (ML) to communication systems is expected to play a pivotal role in future artificial intelligence (AI)-based next-generation wireless networks. While most existing works focus on ML techniques for static wireless environments, they often face limitations when applied to highly dynamic environments, such as flying ad hoc networks (F ANETs). This paper explores the use of data-driven Koopman approaches to address these challenges. Specifically, we investigate how these approaches can model UA V trajectory dynamics within F ANETs, enabling more accurate predictions and improved network performance. By leveraging Koopman operator theory, we propose two possible approaches--centralized and distributed--to efficiently address the challenges posed by the constantly changing topology of F ANETs. Our results show that these approaches can accurately predict connectivity and isolation events that lead to modelled communication outages. This capability could help UA Vs schedule their transmissions based on these predictions.
SmartUT: Receive Beamforming for Spectral Coexistence of NGSO Satellite Systems

Abstract--In this paper, we investigate downlink co-frequency interference (CFI) mitigation in non-geostationary satellite orbits (NGSOs) co-existing systems. Traditional mitigation techniques, such as Zero-forcing (ZF), produce a null towards the direction of arrivals (DOAs) of the interfering signals, but they suffer from high computational complexity due to matrix inversions and required knowledge of the channel state information (CSI). Furthermore, adaptive beamformers, such as sample matrix inversion (SMI)-based minimum variance, provide poor performance when the available snapshots are limited. We propose a Mamba-based beamformer (MambaBF) that leverages an self-supervised deep learning (DL) approach and can be deployed on the user terminal (UT) antenna array, for assisting downlink beamforming and CFI mitigation using only a limited number of available array snapshots as input, and without CSI knowledge. Agentic AI for Ultra-Modern Networks: Multi-Agent Framework for RAN Autonomy and Assurance

Traditional O - RAN control loops rely heavily on RIC - based orchestration, which centralizes intelligence and exposes the system to risks such as policy conflicts, data drift, and unsafe actions under unforeseen conditions. In this work, we argue that the future of autonomous networks lies in a multi - agentic architecture, where specialized agents collaborate to perform data collection, model training, prediction, policy generation, verification, deployment, and assurance. By replacing tightly - coupled centralized RIC - based workflows with distributed agents, the framework achieves autonomy, resilience, explainability, and system - wide safety. To substantiate this vision, we design and evaluate a traffic steering use case under surge and drift conditions. Results across four KPIs: RRC connected users, IP throughput, PRB utilization, and SINR, demonstrate that a naive predictor - driven deployment improves local KPIs but destabilizes neighbors, whereas the agentic system blocks unsafe policies, preserving global network health. This study highlights multi - agent architectures as a credible foundation for trustworthy AI - driven autonomy in next - generation RANs.
GCN-Driven Reinforcement Learning for Probabilistic Real-Time Guarantees in Industrial URLLC

Ensuring packet-level communication quality is vital for ultra-reliable, low-latency communications (URLLC) in large-scale industrial wireless networks. We enhance the Local Deadline Partition (LDP) algorithm by introducing a Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) integrated with a Deep Q-Network (DQN) reinforcement learning framework for improved interference coordination in multi-cell, multi-channel networks. Unlike LDP's static priorities, our approach dynamically learns link priorities based on real-time traffic demand, network topology, remaining transmission opportunities, and interference patterns. The GCN captures spatial dependencies, while the DQN enables adaptive scheduling decisions through reward-guided exploration. Simulation results show that our GCN-DQN model achieves mean SINR improvements of 179.6\%, 197.4\%, and 175.2\% over LDP across three network configurations. Additionally, the GCN-DQN model demonstrates mean SINR improvements of 31.5\%, 53.0\%, and 84.7\% over our previous CNN-based approach across the same configurations. These results underscore the effectiveness of our GCN-DQN model in addressing complex URLLC requirements with minimal overhead and superior network performance.
Secure mmWave Beamforming with Proactive-ISAC Defense Against Beam-Stealing Attacks

Millimeter-wave (mmWave) communication systems face increasing susceptibility to advanced beam-stealing attacks, posing a significant physical layer security threat. This paper introduces a novel framework employing an advanced Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) agent for proactive and adaptive defense against these sophisticated attacks. A key innovation is leveraging Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC) capabilities for active, intelligent threat assessment. The DRL agent, built on a Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) algorithm, dynamically controls ISAC probing actions to investigate suspicious activities. We introduce an intensive curriculum learning strategy that guarantees the agent experiences successful detection during training to overcome the complex exploration challenges inherent to such a security-critical task. Consequently, the agent learns a robust and adaptive policy that intelligently balances security and communication performance. Numerical results demonstrate that our framework achieves a mean attacker detection rate of 92.8% while maintaining an average user SINR of over 13 dB.
ICDM: Interference Cancellation Diffusion Models for Wireless Semantic Communications

--Diffusion models (DMs) have recently achieved significant success in wireless communications systems due to their denoising capabilities. The broadcast nature of wireless signals makes them susceptible not only to Gaussian noise, but also to unaware interference. This raises the question of whether DMs can effectively mitigate interference in wireless semantic communication systems. In this paper, we model the interference cancellation problem as a maximum a posteriori (MAP) problem over the joint posterior probability of the signal and interference, and theoretically prove that the solution provides excellent estimates for the signal and interference. T o solve this problem, we develop an interference cancellation diffusion model (ICDM), which decomposes the joint posterior into independent prior probabilities of the signal and interference, along with the channel transition probablity. The log-gradients of these distributions at each time step are learned separately by DMs and accurately estimated through deriving. ICDM further integrates these gradients with advanced numerical iteration method, achieving accurate and rapid interference cancellation. Extensive experiments demonstrate that ICDM significantly reduces the mean square error (MSE) and enhances perceptual quality compared to schemes without ICDM. For example, on the CelebA dataset under the Rayleigh fading channel with a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 20 dB and signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) of 0 dB, ICDM reduces the MSE by 4 . Diffusion models (DMs) [1]-[4], which utilize a score function to model the gradient of the conditional data distribution, have recently achieved remarkable success in the field of artificial intelligence generated content (AIGC). These models are capable of generating controllable and high-quality content in various domains, including long-form text generation, controllable image generation, and consistent video generation. They have also become a fundamental technology for large language models (LLMs) such as GPT -4o. The inherent controllability of the content generated by diffusion models has significantly driven their application across diverse fields [5]-[7].
SINR: Sparsity Driven Compressed Implicit Neural Representations

Implicit Neural Representations (INRs) are increasingly recognized as a versatile data modality for representing discretized signals, offering benefits such as infinite query resolution and reduced storage requirements. Existing signal compression approaches for INRs typically employ one of two strategies: 1. direct quantization with entropy coding of the trained INR; 2. deriving a latent code on top of the INR through a learnable transformation. Thus, their performance is heavily dependent on the quantization and entropy coding schemes employed. In this paper, we introduce SINR, an innovative compression algorithm that leverages the patterns in the vector spaces formed by weights of INRs. We compress these vector spaces using a high-dimensional sparse code within a dictionary. Further analysis reveals that the atoms of the dictionary used to generate the sparse code do not need to be learned or transmitted to successfully recover the INR weights. We demonstrate that the proposed approach can be integrated with any existing INR-based signal compression technique. Our results indicate that SINR achieves substantial reductions in storage requirements for INRs across various configurations, outperforming conventional INR-based compression baselines. Furthermore, SINR maintains high-quality decoding across diverse data modalities, including images, occupancy fields, and Neural Radiance Fields.
