While much of the theatrics surrounding Kiffin's return felt like an attempt to sell tickets to a show that had already sold itself, the weekend still delivered an experience that will be remembered for decades. Both Ole Miss and LSU fans will now come to grips with the fact that life goes on, especially during the 2026 season.

Instruction-Driven Game Engines on Large Language Models
Wu, Hongqiu, Wang, Y., Liu, Xingyuan, Zhao, Hai, Zhang, Min
The Instruction-Driven Game Engine (IDGE) project aims to democratize game development by enabling a large language model (LLM) to follow free-form game rules and autonomously generate game-play processes. The IDGE allows users to create games by issuing simple natural language instructions, which significantly lowers the barrier for game development. We approach the learning process for IDGEs as a Next State Prediction task, wherein the model autoregressively predicts in-game states given player actions. It is a challenging task because the computation of in-game states must be precise; otherwise, slight errors could disrupt the game-play. To address this, we train the IDGE in a curriculum manner that progressively increases the model's exposure to complex scenarios. Our initial progress lies in developing an IDGE for Poker, a universally cherished card game. The engine we've designed not only supports a wide range of poker variants but also allows for high customization of rules through natural language inputs. Furthermore, it also favors rapid prototyping of new games from minimal samples, proposing an innovative paradigm in game development that relies on minimal prompt and data engineering. This work lays the groundwork for future advancements in instruction-driven game creation, potentially transforming how games are designed and played.
Would you trust AI to help you invest your money and manage your portfolios?
Siri is known to cut people off midsentence, but there's away to make Siri listen longer. CyberGuy shows you how to customize the wait time. So, you've got some money to invest, and you're mulling over your options, right? That's right, folks, the computer wizards have been busy, and they've conjured up a whopper: Artificial Intelligence (AI) investment platforms. It feels like we've been hurled into a sci-fi saga where the heroes and heroines don't carry lightsabers but wield algorithms and datasets.
Live a Live review: a lost Japanese RPG gem from the 1990s
In a year where Kate Bush and Metallica re-entered the charts, it's fitting that 2022's most intriguing game so far has been plucked from the past. Directed by Takashi Tokita of Chrono Trigger fame, for decades Live a Live appeared destined to remain the RPG that time forgot. Its initial Japanese release on the Super Famicom (SNES) in 1994 was a commercial flop, ensuring it never left its homeland โ until now. Resurrected for Nintendo's fittingly anachronistic current console, the Switch, this eyebrow-raising relic has been reanimated using Square Enix's gorgeous 2D-HD engine, a graphical style that melds rich high-definition backgrounds with retro 16-bit sprites. The results are glorious, injecting once-flat environments with a playful, eye-catching charm that never quite loses its magic.
US Ships Artillery To Ukraine To Destroy Russian Firepower
The push by the United States to send artillery to Ukraine aims to degrade Russian forces -- not only on the immediate battlefield but over the longer term, according to US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and military experts. The United States, France, Czech Republic and other allies are sending scores of the long-range howitzers to help Ukraine blunt Russia's mounting offensive in the eastern Donbas region. Backed by better air defense, attack drones and Western intelligence, the allies hope that Kyiv will be able to destroy a large amount of Russia's firepower in the looming showdown. After returning from Kyiv, where he met Ukraine defense chiefs and President Volodymyr Zelensky, Austin told journalists in Poland early Monday that Washington's hopes are larger than that. Russia "has already lost a lot of military capability, and a lot of its troops, quite frankly. And we want to see them not have the capability to very quickly reproduce that capability," Austin said.
India bans 118 more Chinese apps as border dispute escalates
India has banned 118 more Chinese apps in a stepped-up backlash over an increasingly bitter border showdown between the neighbours. India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology on Wednesday said the apps - including the mobile version of the popular video game PUBG and other services provided by China internet giant Tencent - promoted activities "prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order". India and China have been embroiled in a series of deadly clashes and showdowns on their Himalayan border in recent weeks. In June, 20 Indian soldiers were killed in hand-to-hand combat in the Ladakh region of the border. An Indian special forces member was killed in one of two incidents at the weekend.
