#artificialintelligence

Have you ever wished you could clone yourself? Imagine how much you could accomplish. The future of A.I. will make something kind of like that possible. By scanning your face and voice and observing how you talk and what you know, future A.I. could build a virtual assistant that's a virtual you. But one company is already working on it.

How AI can change video conferencing as we know it

#artificialintelligence

While most people are familiar with the term "AI," it's often considered science fiction. But as technology advances, AI is being introduced to the workplace, and it has a lot of applications. One of these is video conferencing, where it can help reduce the amount of busywork you might otherwise need to do. As more workplaces switch to cloud phone systems like RingCentral, taking meeting notes can get tricky. The usual difficulties of meetings -- people talking over each other, going off topic, or going unheard -- are often worse on video calls.

4 Ways Artificial Intelligence is Revolutionizing Human Resources

#artificialintelligence

Although once it was just a far-fetched idea in Silicon Valley, the use of artificial intelligence in our everyday lives is becoming more common by the day. The adoption of AI in areas that need massive amounts of data analysis has grown dramatically, particularly in human resource departments. By using AI, companies can reduce the time spent taking care of mundane tasks and speed up data gathering, which leads to improved business performance. Let's take a look at a few of the crucial areas where AI is in use and how it will continue to help HR departments improve employee motivation and well being. Artificial intelligence is the use of computer algorithms to analyze and perform cognitive functions that mimic human behavior.

Most popular AI research platform for Learning

#artificialintelligence

AI research platform has experienced a resurgence following concurrent advances in computer power, large amounts of data, and theoretical understanding. AI techniques have become an essential part of the technology industry, helping to solve many challenging problems in business. OpenAI is a non-profit Artificial Intelligence (AI) research company, associated with business magnate Elon Musk, that aims to carefully promote and develop friendly AI in such a way as to benefit, rather than harm, humanity as a whole. The organization aims to "freely collaborate" with other institutions and researchers by making its patents and research open to the public. The company is supported by over US$1 billion in commitments; however, only a tiny fraction of the $1 billion pledged is expected to be spent in the first few years. The founders are motivated in part by concerns about existential risk from artificial general intelligence.

X.ai brings its scheduling bot to Slack

#artificialintelligence

X.ai's meeting assistant bot is now available on Slack. Plans to bring the bot that automates meeting scheduling to communication platforms were first shared with VentureBeat last August following the closure of a $10 million funding round. The bot, which can be named Amy or Andrew, will be able to do the same thing on Slack as it does in email: Set up meetings for you using natural language understanding, stepping in to eliminate the back-and-forth haggling over when and where to meet. Amy and Andrew can schedule meetings with one or multiple people, record reminders, and deliver meeting summaries. X.ai started four years ago with an email client, since many meeting requests begin there, but expanded to Slack today because team members did not like switching to email just to schedule appointments with each other.

11 Artificial Intelligence Tools Transforming the B2B Sales World

"AI is destined to be the perfect tool to fuel organizations' sales efforts and power sales teams with genuinely intelligent tools to more effectively organize their work and sell more." Technology is fully embedded in today's sales organizations and it goes beyond just a database of customer or prospect information. Sales software does everything from schedule meetings and write emails to identifying sales behaviors that close more deals. That's how artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the sales landscape today. Nudge is a Modern Sales Platform that uses AI to provide sales teams with actionable insights on their target customers.

Put Artificial Intelligence to Work Managing All Your Meetings

#artificialintelligence

But some of the clerical work associated with organizing and documenting meetings now might be outsourced to artificially intelligent machines. Isn't artificial intelligence for big tasks such as self-driving cars, automated trading and facial recognition? Once the stuff of science fiction, AI is quickly becoming widespread, available and even commoditized. While AI eventually will play a much larger role in just about everything we all do, the first AI application you touch almost certainly will perform tedious, relatively minor tasks. In business, that means helping you with your meetings.

Microsoft's Genee Acquisition Reflects Drive to AI-Enable Digital Experience

#artificialintelligence

Microsoft Corp. on Monday said it has agreed to buy Genee, a "smart" scheduling app, as the company continues its effort to embed AI in all of its digital experiences. Rajesh Jha, vice president of Microsoft's Outlook and Office 365 business, said in a blog post that the acquisition will help "further our ambition to bring intelligence into every digital experience" as it builds new Office 365 productivity capabilities and services. Powered by AI, Genee could be used to enhance Microsoft's own virtual assistant, Cortana, which competes with Alphabet's Google Now and Apple Inc.'s Siri. By reading users' emails, Cortana can track packages and set reminders based on location, and other tasks. With Genee, it would be able to automatically set up business meetings by recognizing key phrases in emails. Both Google Now and Siri can interact with calendars to coordinate meetings on command, said Mike Gualtieri, a principal analyst at Forrester Research.
