Riiid Launches R.test, an AI-Powered SAT Preparation Platform

#artificialintelligence

Riiid, a leading provider of AI-powered education solutions and member company of Born2Global Centre, has announced the launch of R.test, an AI-powered Platform designed to help students prepare for standardized tests, including the digital SAT and ACT. With R.test, students can predict test scores with high accuracy in only a quarter of the time it takes to complete full mock tests. R.test's AI engine provides students with an overview of their current test-taking habits and predicts the correctness of answers for questions that they have not solved. The platform analyzes students' weaknesses and offers actionable guidance on how to improve, including an AI-curated selection of relevant practice questions. It also provides students with an analysis of their time spent answering questions, highlighting areas where they need to work more quickly.

Riiid! Answer Correctness Prediction Kaggle Challenge: 4th Place Solution Summary

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

This paper presents my solution to the challenge "Riiid! Answer Correctness Prediction" on Kaggle hosted by Riiid Labs (2020), which scores 0.817 (AUC) and ranks 4th on the final private leaderboard. It is a single transformer-based model heavily inspired from previous works such as SAKT, SAINT and SAINT+. Novel ingredients that I believed to have made a difference are the time-aware attention mechanism, the concatenation of the embeddings of the input sequences and the embedding of continuous features.

Opinion: How Artificial Intelligence Can Democratize Education After Covid - AI Development Hub

#artificialintelligence

Craig Smith is a former New York Occasions correspondent and host of the podcast, Eye on AI. The continuing Covid-19 pandemic, which has disrupted classroom instruction all over the world, presents an historic alternative to democratize schooling with artificial intelligence. Since Socrates taught Plato and Plato taught Aristotle -- or Confucius taught Yan Hui -- man has identified that one of the best schooling is delivered one-to-one by an skilled educator. The result's the imperfect classroom-based instruction that we stay with in the present day. But, new types of AI, based mostly on deep neural networks, can now uncover patterns about how college students carry out and assist lecturers optimize their methods accordingly.

[P] Re-imagine education with AI: Algorithm competition by Riiid for a 100K Prize

#artificialintelligence

Riiid, a leader in AI education solutions, just launched a challenge via Kaggle to use the largest educational dataset to build innovative algorithms that track knowledge states of 780K students. The goal is to accurately predict how students will perform on future interactions. If successful, it's possible that any student with an Internet connection can enjoy the benefits of a personalized learning experience, regardless of where they live. With your participation, we can build a better and more equitable model for education in a post-COVID-19 world. The 100K prize competition will run from October 5 to January 2021 and the winning models will have a chance to present at AAAI 2021.

Riiid raises $41.8 million to expand its AI test prep apps

#artificialintelligence

Riiid, a Seoul, South Korea-based startup developing AI test prep solutions, today closed a $41.8 million pre-series D financing round, bringing its total venture capital raised to date to $70.2 million. CEO YJ Jang says the funding will be used to advance Riiid's technology that offers personalized study solutions based on big data analysis, and to bolster the company's expansion across the U.S., South America, and the Middle East as it establishes an R&D lab -- Riiid Labs -- in Silicon Valley. The pandemic has forced the shutdown of schools in countries around the world; cramped indoor classrooms are seen as a major threat vector. Despite inequities with regard to internet access and the widening achievement gap, it's the belief of educators that the health pros outweigh the cons. Riiid, which offers its services exclusively online, has been a beneficiary of the shift.
