A GPU-Accelerated RAG-Based Telegram Assistant for Supporting Parallel Processing Students

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

This project addresses a critical pedagogical need: offering students continuous, on-demand academic assistance beyond conventional reception hours. I present a domain-specific Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system powered by a quantized Mistral-7B Instruct model and deployed as a Telegram bot. The assistant enhances learning by delivering real-time, personalized responses aligned with the "Introduction to Parallel Processing" course materials. GPU acceleration significantly improves inference latency, enabling practical deployment on consumer hardware. This approach demonstrates how consumer GPUs can enable affordable, private, and effective AI tutoring for HPC education.

Watch This Robot 3D Print a Building Out of Spray Foam

IEEE Spectrum Robotics

Construction seems like an industry that, were I still living in Silicon Valley, I would be tempted to call "ripe for disruption." Researchers at the MIT Media Lab agree, pointing out in a paper just published in Science Robotics that construction "relies on traditional fabrication technologies that are dangerous, slow, and energy-intensive." Hey, sounds like a job for some robots, right? The Media Lab's paper introduces the Digital Construction Platform (DCP), which is "an automated construction system capable of customized on-site fabrication of architectural-scale structures." In other words, it's a robot arm that uses additive construction techniques to build large structures safely, quickly, and even (in some cases) renewably.

GLISP: A High-Level Language for A.I. Programming

Data objects are described G1.ISP is a high-level LISP-based language which is compiled into separately from code which references the objects, making code largely LISP using a know ledge base of object descriptions. I.isp objects and representation-independent, as well as shorter and more objects in VI. representation languages are treated unifomily, this understandable. Type inference is performed when features of an makes program code independent of the data representation used, and object ap accessed, and type information is propagated by the compiler permit., changes of representation without changing code.

The Computational Theory of Intelligence: Information Entropy

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

This paper presents an information theoretic approach to the concept of intelligence in the computational sense. We introduce a probabilistic framework from which computational intelligence is shown to be an entropy minimizing process at the local level. Using this new scheme, we develop a simple data driven clustering example and discuss its applications.

Quick Summary

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

Quick Summary is an innovate implementation of an automatic document summarizer that inputs a document in the English language and evaluates each sentence. The scanner or evaluator determines criteria based on its grammatical structure and place in the paragraph. The program then asks the user to specify the number of sentences the person wishes to highlight. For example should the user ask to have three of the most important sentences, it would highlight the first and most important sentence in green. Commonly this is the sentence containing the conclusion. Then Quick Summary finds the second most important sentence usually called a satellite and highlights it in yellow. This is usually the topic sentence. Then the program finds the third most important sentence and highlights it in red. The implementations of this technology are useful in a society of information overload when a person typically receives 42 emails a day (Microsoft). The paper also is a candid look at difficulty that machine learning has in textural translating. However, it speaks on how to overcome the obstacles that historically prevented progress. This paper proposes mathematical meta-data criteria that justify the place of importance of a sentence. Just as tools for the study of relational symmetry in bio-informatics, this tool seeks to classify words with greater clarity. "Survey Finds Workers Average Only Three Productive Days per Week."
