outage
GitHub has been down for most of the morning
People who are doing more than vibe coding to build apps and websites might be in a bit of a tizzy this Monday morning. The platform's status page notes there are problems on several fronts, including with API requests, pull requests and webhooks. Copilot is also affected, so those using the platform for AI coding might be experiencing issues as well. "We are experiencing high error rates around 20 percent for web experiences and API traffic. Archive downloads and raw repository content downloads are experiencing an approximate 50 percent error rate," read an update posted just before 11AM.
I ditched T-Mobile for Mint after 10 years, and saved 120/month - without any service issues

So why pay a lot more for basically the same service? Recently, a T-Mobile outage affected thousands of customers nationwide, and depending on your choice of words when conversing with a service representative, you were compensated anywhere from $10 to $80 in bill credits. Had I still been a part of the magenta family, I likely would've experienced the frustration of my in-laws, who were outside a concert venue that day, waiting to regain any bit of signal to validate their tickets in the 90-degree weather. I was loyal to T-Mobile for 10 years, but switching to Mint slashed my bill - by a lot

PlayStation Network is experiencing a massive outage
PlayStation Network (PSN) is going through an outage that's affecting all of Sony's video game services, according to the PlayStation Service Status page. Players may be unable to access their PlayStation account or use the PlayStation Store, and the outage has had at least one real world impact by delaying the EA Sports FC 26 championship at the Esports World Cup. Sony's status page notes that "all services are experiencing issues," including account management features, game streaming, the PlayStation Store and even PlayStation Direct, Sony's website for selling PlayStation hardware. The issues also extend to older platforms the company is still maintaining in one way or another, like the PS Vita, PS4 and PS3. Engadget has asked Sony to comment on the outage and the work it's doing to fix it.

Claude AI: Why are there so many internet outages? AI chatbot Claude going down is just one example of a recent IT outage. Anthropic's Claude chatbot recently had service troubles This week, AI chatbot Claude went down, leaving users unable to access the service via its maker Anthropic's website, but barely a week goes by without a similar incident at a technology giant, government website or hospital . One of the main vulnerabilities of the modern internet is the shift to cloud computing, meaning a huge range of websites and services now rely on just a handful of companies, such as Amazon and Microsoft. In the early days of the commercial internet in the 1990s, companies used to operate their own hardware and software, a bit like individual shops in a street.

A 13-hour interruption to Amazon Web Services' (AWS) operations in December was caused by an AI agent autonomously choosing to "delete and then recreate" a part of its environment, the Financial Times reported. AWS, which provides vital infrastructure for much of the internet, suffered several outages last year.
