Female Looksmaxxer Alorah Ziva Is Suing Clavicular for Alleged Battery
Aleksandra Mendoza, aka Alorah Ziva, alleges that the 20-year-old influencer injected her with drugs on a livestream and had nonconsensual sex with her while she was underage. An 18-year-old woman who promotes herself as the "#1 female looksmaxxer" is suing the highly controversial streamer Braden Eric Peters, aka Clavicular, for fraud, battery, and alleged sexual assault. In the suit, which was filed in Miami-Dade County court and obtained by WIRED, Aleksandra Mendoza, who goes by the name @zahloria, or Alorah Ziva, on Instagram, alleges that she first encountered Peters in May 2025, when she was just 16 years old. According to the complaint, Peters promised Mendoza he could make her "the female face of looksmaxxing," the online trend of using surgery or drugs to enhance one's facial features. Eager to grow her social media following, Mendoza agreed to make four looksmaxxing videos for Peters in exchange for a $1,000 payment, court documents say.

UK's $125M AI chip investment not enough to keep pace in tech race, experts warn: 'Go big or go home'
Fox News host Bret Baier has more on U.S. and its allies efforts to increase semiconductor manufacturing on'Special Report.' The United Kingdom has pledged to spend 100 million pounds (or $125.8 million) on buying and developing computer chips necessary for artificial intelligence (AI) systems in a move that seeks to cement Britain as a global leader in the sector, but experts worry it is not enough to match the competitive market. "The U.K. has a valuable perspective on AI development – sitting between the U.S. free-for-all position and the EU regulatory approach – that makes it the perfect venue for the first international AI global safety conference," Alan Mendoza, co-founder and executive director of the Henry Jackson Society, told Fox News Digital. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak plans to build thousands of high-powered artificial intelligence chips, building on a deal struck between the U.K. and U.S. during his state visit in June when he and President Biden signed the "Atlantic Declaration." The White House touted the agreement as something that would ensure that the "unique alliance is adapted, reinforced and reimagined for the challenges of this moment," including the "handful of critical and emerging technologies" such as AI that are "forming the backbone of new industries and shaping our national security landscape."

This paper presents an online learning approach for teams of autonomous soccer robots to select free kick plans. In robot soccer, free kicks present an opportunity to execute plans with relatively controllable initial conditions. However, the effectiveness of each plan is highly dependent on the adversary, and there are few free kicks during each game, making it necessary to learn online from sparse observations. To achieve learning, we first greatly reduce the planning space by framing the problem as a contextual multi-armed bandit problem, in which the actions are a set of pre-computed plans, and the state is the position of the free kick on the field. During execution, we model the reward function for different free kicks using Gaussian Processes, and perform online learning using the Upper Confidence Bound algorithm. Results from a physics-based simulation reveal that the robots are capable of adapting to various different realistic opponents to maximize their expected reward during free kicks.

What's the most urgent action we need to take in 2020?
Horizon asked a selection of scientists featured in the magazine last year for their opinion on priorities for 2020. READ: Prosperity is about more than money. But what else should count? '2020 is a super-year for international policy action,' said Sandrine Dixson-Declève, co-president of global think tank the Club of Rome and chair of an expert EU group on the economic and societal impact of research (ESIR). An oceans treaty will be agreed, biodiversity targets announced, it's the first opportunity for nations to increase their climate goals, and the start of the decade to scale action for the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, she says.

A Lens on New Technology and the Future of AI in Manufacturing
Optimax was founded in 1991 by a group of Eastman Kodak workers and has since grown to more than 400 employees. Its market is broad and expanding, said Alejandro Mendoza, human resources manager. "Anything that needs light (to operate) needs some type of optical component," he said. "Anybody designing something that needs some type of optical component, we have the opportunity to work with." Mendoza added that Optimax's constant work with evolving technologies has taught it to explore any chance to use technology to improve systems and processes.
