AI can determine personal information through AR, VR users' motion data, studies say

FOX News

Fox News' Eben Brown reports on how more companies are using A.I. technology to set retail prices based on data-driven supply-and-demand. People who participate in augmented and virtual realities are reportedly sharing more information than previously understood through motion data, according to researchers at U.C. Berkeley. In two studies published earlier this year, led by the university, authors found users can be identified using just minutes of their head and hand movements. Such data, which is collected, can be used to infer dozens of related characteristics, like age and disability status. "Users are revealing way more information than they think. And there's very little that they can do to prevent that," Vivek Nair, the studies' lead author and a Ph.D. student at Berkeley's Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, said in a release.

New AI 'baby translator' knows why your child is crying

Daily Mail - Science & tech

A new artificial intelligent-powered device is helping to answer the million-dollar question for new parents - why is my baby crying? Qbear is a circular, silicone-covered device with software that analyzes cries to determine if the baby is hungry, tired, needs comfort or has a dirty diaper - and it does so in just 10 seconds with 95 percent accuracy. Parents receive notifications about their child's noises through a companion app, which also displays updates on their baby's comfort level and room temperature. Qbear is currently showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, showcasing the latest products and technologies in the consumer electronics industry. Qbear sits on the side of a crib, bassinet or stroller and activates when it hears the baby crying and'tells' parents what their child needs via a companion app Qbear has three available placement options: tabletop, wall hanging and crib stand.

iMediSync Unveils World's First Integrated Wireless Brain EEG At CES 2022

They are launching their first therapeutic device – iSyncWave, which integrates both EEG brain mapping and LED therapy at 2022 CES Las Vegas. An open-to-public CES Show Day press conference will take place on Jan 6th at the CES provided conference room. As the company slogan states, "Overcome mental pandemic in just 10 minutes, "press and visitors can expect a complete analysis report of EEG (brainwave) and HRV (Heart rate variability) operated by AI deep learning algorithms in just 10 minutes to assess the condition of brain and dysfunctionality including the early diagnostic insights which could play a major role in discovering a neuro-related diseases in early stages. Recently with the addition of software upgrades, and an FCC approval allowed the iSyncWave to be exported to the EU, Asia, and Australia already use for research and diagnostics. "We will provide life-changing mental healthcare experience to introduce neuro-mental illness biomarker and the patent EEG/HRV technology," says CEO Dr. Seung Wan Kang.

Training a single AI model can emit as much carbon as five cars in their lifetimes MIT Tech Review Training an AI model has the equivalent carbon footprint as five American cars, including fuel usage, according to researchers at the University of Massachusetts, who performed life cycle assessments for training several large AI models. While that figure relates to a neural net with more than 200 million parameters, the study highlights the unbelievable efficiency of the human brain. The bigger question now is whether we will build machines that rival the brain for efficiency. To be energy-efficient, brains predict their perceptions Quanta Magazine Many neuroscientists view the brain as a "prediction machine" which, through predictive processing, uses knowledge of the world to make inferences or generate hypotheses about the causes of incoming information. Computational neuroscientists are building artificial neural networks that learn to make predictions about incoming information.

Hack a Neural Network in just 10 Lines of Code!!!

#artificialintelligence

Hope you are doing well. Hacking a Neural Network is simply fooling a Neural Network. Neural Networks are increasingly being used in various security and moderating systems across different fields. It is very important that they mainatain their integrity across different types of attacks. In this article, I am going to explain how we can modify an image (without changing it too much) to force the Neural Network to mis-classify it (that too with a very high degree of certainity).

today in this article we would talk about how we can learn machine learning in just 10 days well its sounds easy but we will have to make efforts to complete the goal in the very first days, we…

Electric cars could be topped up in less than 10 minutes thanks to 'battery swapping' stations

Daily Mail - Science & tech

San Francisco-based Ample announced a new battery charging technology that refuels electric vehicles from any automaker in just 10 minutes – three times faster than traditional systems. Using Modular Battery system, AI-powered robots remove the depleted battery and replace it with a fully charged unit – Ample says its batteries are like Lego-blocks that can accommodate any vehicle. Ample, started by Ex-Tesla and Google engineers, has constructed five battery swap stations in the San Francisco Bay Area, which can fit in two parking spots, specifically for Uber drivers. The technology comes as Tesla had promised deliver electric vehicle battery swapping stations in 2013, but the Elon Musk-owned company did not deliver - so the start-up moved to make it happen. 'Hopefully this is what convinces people finally that electric cars are the future,' Musk said, rallying a crowd at a splashy demo in 2013, also noting that battery of a Tesla Model S could be swapped in about 90 seconds. However, Musk said in 2015 that Tesla owners were not interested in swapping batteries and pulled the plug on pursuing a batter swapping station.

'Less Than One'-Shot Learning for Dummies

#artificialintelligence

If you have landed here, chances are you are already aware of the basics of AI & ML. The very first thing anyone talk when it comes to AI is "DATA"! Why you ask, it's simple. AI is just a manifestation of human's perception about humans. It is the process of us trying to understand and replicate our mind's learning and thought process so that we can have human-like alternatives to manage noisy real world tasks.
