Apple Intelligence Will Infuse the iPhone With Generative AI
Apple is finally getting into the generative artificial intelligence game. Apple CEO Tim Cook announced Apple's long-awaited AI reboot at the company's Worldwide Developer Conference in Cupertino, California, today. What the company is calling "Apple Intelligence" includes a handful of features that will shape the iOS experience in ways large and small. Apple also gave Siri, its currently limited voice assistant, a significant generative AI overhaul. Apple also announced that it will incorporate outside AI models into its software, starting with OpenAI's ChatGPT later this year, making clear that the experience will be opt-in only and won't require a ChatGPT subscription.
Deep Neural Networks based Meta-Learning for Network Intrusion Detection

The digitization of different components of industry and inter-connectivity among indigenous networks have increased the risk of network attacks. Designing an intrusion detection system to ensure security of the industrial ecosystem is difficult as network traffic encompasses various attack types, including new and evolving ones with minor changes. The data used to construct a predictive model for computer networks has a skewed class distribution and limited representation of attack types, which differ from real network traffic. These limitations result in dataset shift, negatively impacting the machine learning models' predictive abilities and reducing the detection rate against novel attacks. To address the challenges, we propose a novel deep neural network based Meta-Learning framework; INformation FUsion and Stacking Ensemble (INFUSE) for network intrusion detection. First, a hybrid feature space is created by integrating decision and feature spaces. Five different classifiers are utilized to generate a pool of decision spaces. The feature space is then enriched through a deep sparse autoencoder that learns the semantic relationships between attacks. Finally, the deep Meta-Learner acts as an ensemble combiner to analyze the hybrid feature space and make a final decision. Our evaluation on stringent benchmark datasets and comparison to existing techniques showed the effectiveness of INFUSE with an F-Score of 0.91, Accuracy of 91.6%, and Recall of 0.94 on the Test+ dataset, and an F-Score of 0.91, Accuracy of 85.6%, and Recall of 0.87 on the stringent Test-21 dataset. These promising results indicate the strong generalization capability and the potential to detect network attacks.

Microsoft to infuse its AI capabilities across industries
Tech giant Microsoft plans to build artificial intelligence into all of its applications, a report in Indo-Asian News Service said. Addressing partners at an event'Microsoft Inspire', chief executive Satya Nadella said that the firm will infuse everything with AI, which will have perception and language capabilities built into applications, the report said. He also said that Microsoft's Azure Cloud services will go beyond the data centre. "We are going to take Azure to Azure Stack, to Azure IoT Edge and to Azure Sphere. This is a ubiquitous, distributed computing fabric," IANS quoted Nadella as saying.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) could add $957 billion to the Indian economy by changing the nature of work to create better outcomes for businesses and society, a new Accenture report said on Thursday. AI has the potential to increase India's annual growth rate of gross value added (GVA) by 1.3 percentage points, lifting the country's income by 15 percent in 2035, said the report titled "'Rewire for Growth". "The time to act is now. With the right investments, AI can create a flywheel effect'liberating' people to create long term economic and societal value," said Rekha M Menon, Senior Managing Director and Chairman, Accenture India. For AI to realise its full potential, India needs to develop a long-term vision and action plan that unites the ecosystem, and addresses technical and ethical questions as they arise.
