Hisense U8K Review: A Great Screen for Well-Lit Rooms
With great power comes great responsibility. That's just one of the lessons I learned from Spider-Man over the years, or, in this case, his various uncle Bens. I think any Ben Parker would be proud of Hisense's latest model in the U8 TV series, the U8K (65U8K), which leverages its powerful mini-LED backlighting system for nuclear-level brightness alongside responsibly tempered local dimming control for excellent contrast and black levels. The result is dazzling, flagship-like performance at a mid-tier price. Like its predecessor, the U8H (8/10, WIRED Recommends), the U8K also sports an intuitive, if slightly sluggish, Google TV interface for simplified navigation, and offers quick setup and a relatively stylish design.
TCL 6-Series 2022 Model R655 Review: The Best Value TV Right Now
There's nothing like something you can easily unbox, plug in, and turn on without cracking a manual or downloading a PDF. So why am I still so obsessed with TCL's 6-Series? In the past I've said that the 6-Series was the best TV for most people based largely on how well the screen looks for your dollars. It wasn't for TCL's looks or sleek interfaces and apps--there were, and are, plenty of other mid-tier options from Vizio, Hisense, and others that get that job done right. But the latest 6-Series now wins out for sheer physical simplicity. It comes with a center pedestal stand, and you barely have to touch a settings menu.

Hisense U8G-series 4K UHD TV review: Nice for the price, especially for gamers
It's a very nice set, although we missed the deep black performance we've seen in some competitors outfitted with mini-LED backlights. The U8G-series is available in both 55-inch ($950) and 65-inch ($1,300, reviewed here) sizes. It uses a 120Hz, 10-bit, 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) panel featuring quantum dots for extremely accurate color. The TV is a bit on the heavy side, weighing close to 53.4 pounds on the wall (with VESA 400 mm x 400 mm mount), and 56 pounds including the stand. The bezel is thin, and there's a classy look to the whole deal.

What is AI? Everything you need to know
Far from being the stuff of science-fiction, artificial intelligence, or AI, is becoming an increasingly common sight in today's world. Combining the latest powerful software with top-of-the-range hardware, AI tools are being used to transform many areas of everyday life, from healthcare to traffic problems. But what is AI, and how is it being used today? Here is our guide to everything you need to know, and some of the most innovative and interesting use cases around today. For years, it was thought that computers would never be more powerful than the human brain, but as development has accelerated in modern times, this has proven to be not the case.

Hisense's AI TV will make you an armchair World Cup expert
The age of the smart TV is over, says Hisense - the future of television is artificial intelligence. These next-generation sets don't just display images and play sound, but know what's actually happening on-screen and bring you into the action, starting with the 2018 FIFA World Cup. At CES Asia, China's biggest technology show, the company demonstrated its vision with an AI-powered TV that works as a virtual football pundit to help even non-fans wrap their heads around all the tournament's finer details. It includes facial recognition that identifies all of the tournament's 736 players - in both agony and ecstasy - and present full biographies, statistics and headlines plucked from recent articles. If you decide to change sides at half time, the app can even direct you to a store where you can buy a replica of a specific player's kit (though you'll need to scan a quick QR code with your smartphone to actually make the purchase).
Hisense's latest 4K TVs will include Amazon Alexa
We've found the running theme for TVs at this year's CES: built-in voice assistants. Hisense has revealed that some of its 2018 4K TVs will include Amazon Alexa, letting you control both the set itself and your smart home. You can change inputs, stream online radio or turn on your lights without budging from the couch. Hisense isn't saying much about the TVs themselves, but it does note that a 100-inch laser TV will be one of those receiving the Alexa treatment. You should hear more about Hisense's lineup by the time CES kicks off.
