Guerrero: This California millionaire is peddling eternal life. Why do so many people believe him?
For a moment, I fell under the spell of Bryan Johnson. Bathed in early-morning sunlight, the 46-year-old L.A.-based tech centimillionaire and longevity celebrity didn't look much younger than his age, although he claims to have the wrinkles of a 10-year-old and organs that are several years younger than his lifespan. We were standing at the Temescal Canyon trailhead in Pacific Palisades on Jan. 13, ahead of a Johnson-sponsored "Don't Die" hike, one of many organized across the world that day and the only one hosted by him. Of the 500-plus people who had RSVP'd for the L.A. event, about 200 showed up. Some had slept in their cars to make it.

The AI device that can detect counterfeit handbags
"I'm going to show you a fake bag so you can see how spectacular an imitation can be." Lucía De La Calle, is an appraiser at the second-hand luxury handbags boutique Del Páramo Vintage in Valladolid, in northwest Spain. She shows EL PAÍS a Louis Vuitton Twist MM bag, a classic model that the brand wants to make a basic, betting on its reissue year after year in different colors. "I think my eye is quite trained but, often, even I am unable to perceive the difference," says De La Calle. The woman who bought this bag for €2,500 on the second-hand market brought it to the store with the brand's characteristic orange box and authentic dust cover, as well as a copy of the invoice from its previous owner.

'It's ugly out there': Rail thefts leave tracks littered with pilfered packages
The scene was a stretch of railroad tracks in Lincoln Heights on Saturday: A blizzard of torn plastic wrappers, cardboard boxes and paper packaging attesting to a wave of rail car thievery that officials say has been on the rise in recent months. Several scavengers picked through the debris, hoping to find electronics, clothes or whatever valuables thieves left behind. "Everything comes on the train -- cellphones, Louis Vuitton purses, designer clothes, toys, lawnmowers, power equipment, power tools," said a 37-year-old man who declined to give his name. He said he comes to the tracks regularly and once found a Louis Vuitton purse and a robotic arm worth five figures: "We find things here and there, make some money off of it." Thieves are pilfering railroad cars in a crime that harks back to the days of horseback-riding bandits, but is fueled by a host of modern realities, including the rise of e-commerce and Southern California's role as a hub for the movement of goods.

Tom Brady's incredible accuracy on full display in pre-training camp video
Fox News Flash top headlines are here. Check out what's clicking on Foxnews.com. Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers appear ready to compete for another Super Bowl. Brady on Sunday showed off his accuracy in a video. "Training camp starts this week. Brady and the Buccaneers visited the White House earlier in the week to celebrate the franchise's second Super Bowl title. The team brought back each of its starters after beating the Kansas City Chiefs, a feat that has never been done in the NFL until Tampa Bay did it. The 43-year-old is entering his 22nd NFL season and coming off MCL surgery as he reportedly played with a torn ligament the entire 2020 season. In 2020, Brady had 4,633 passing yards and 40 touchdown passes. He took the Buccaneers into the playoffs on a wild card berth and won each playoff game on the road before beating the Chiefs in Super Bowl LV. Alex Guerrero, Brady's personal trainer, said last week fans can expect to see Brady on the field for another two years -- at least. Guerrero said during an appearance on "The Adam Schefter Podcast" Tuesday that the goal was always to help prepare Brady to play through at least 45, which means that he will fulfill his contract with the Bucs through the 2022 season. "I think the biggest accomplishment from me will come probably if we make it through age 45 because that's what his goal was.
