As the Artificial Intelligence race heats up, Google is feeling the pressure, and the company is now reportedly working on a new AI-powered search engine. According to the latest reports, the Mountain View-based technology giant is in the process of creating a new AI-powered search engine as well as updating technology in the existing search platform. Internal documents indicate that the company has a project named Magi which is aimed at updating the existing search engine with the new technology and about 160 employees are currently working on it. The new features are being created by designers, engineers, and executives working in sprint rooms to tweak and test the new versions. After the changes, the search engine would offer a more personalized experience than the company's current service.

As it has become difficult for Huawei to focus on the smartphone business because of the sanctions imposed by the United States, the Chinese giant has been focusing on other products. In line with that, the company has today launched the Huawei AI Speaker 2e, which is now available for purchase for 199 yuan (approximately $31). The speaker comes in a pill-shaped design and woven mesh look. It comes with LED dot matrix lights that can show several different information on the speaker itself, including times, weather, temperature, and more. The Huawei AI Speaker 2e has a row of buttons at the top with a yellow-colored button in the center for one-click communication while the other buttons on the speaker are for controlling the playback.

Chinese benchmarking outfit Master Lu has now released the list of best mobile chipsets in terms of AI performance for the first half of 2019. The list of combined processors for Q1 2019 was topped by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, followed by the Snapdragon Apple A12 and the Kirin 980 chipset from Huawei. As is expected, we've got the Snapdragon 855 in the lead, followed by Apple's excellent A12 chip. Yes, you heard that right, MediaTek has managed to get the Helio P90 up there, and it's apparently a pretty great performer when it comes to AI performance. According to Master Lu, while the Helio P90 isn't exactly the most powerful chip around, the AI performance on it is above most other competitors.

The report interestingly shows that Google's AI is almost at the same level as the level of intelligent a normal six-year-old child would display. The study seems to have been conducted last with Google's AI having an IQ score of 47.28 points. This is just some figures lower than the IQ of a 6-year-old child whose IQ score is 55.5 points.
