It was an honor to be invited to speak at #IJCAI2024 and introduce the concepts behind #timeseries databases to an amazing group of researchers and academics.

Is generative AI a degenerative AI? Creativity, exploratory, transformational, or combinational, could be an attribute of reality of LLMs. Machine creativity as computational creativity, artificial creativity, mechanical creativity, creative computing or creative computation is to complement human creativity. With powerful language machines, we have two types of creativity: Stochastic Creativity or Imitative Originality; Spontaneous Creativity or Real Originality; The first one is typical for narrow/weak AI models, combining the data points (tokens) probabilistically, manipulating petabytes of language data of various modalities. Creativity is stochastic if there is uncertainty or randomness involved in the outcomes. Stochastic is a synonym for random and probabilistic, although is different from non-deterministic.

Is Generative AI a post-reality Technology? Truth [AI] is what interrelates representations (data and information, learning and knowledge, concepts and ideas, thoughts and inferences, models and theories, observations and simulations, statements and sentences) with the world of reality, its things and facts, states of affairs, events and processes in terms of causal interrelationships. Or, the truth or the falsity of something is determined by how it relates to a reality; that is, by whether it is true of false of that reality. As Aristotle claims in Metaphysics: "To say that that which is, is not, and that which is not, is, is a falsehood; therefore, to say that which is, is, and that which is not, is not, is true". Post-truth (PT) or post-reality (PR) is what comes after truth and reality, as inventing and mixing various types of truth, as objective, normative, subjective or composite.

Why computer system can't think as humans? There is perception and reality. Unlike machines, for humans perception is reality. The real reality is different and it's above any perception. In this interaction between perception vs reality, reality often has a leading role.
