Rotten Tomatoes further dilutes its utility with 'Verified Hot' badge
Rotten Tomatoes just added a new "Verified Hot" badge that indicates an overall positive user score that will join the "Certified Fresh" badge for critic scores. To qualify for this designation, a movie or show needs to have a Verified Audience Score of 90 percent or higher. Finally, the dregs will be slapped with a "Stale" badge, which is for any show or movie that falls beneath 60 percent. Rotten Tomatoes is trying to get around review bombing here by mandating that user reviews be from people who actually saw the movie in question. There are a couple of little problems with this. It verifies that a consumer saw the movie via the ticketing firm Fandango, and there are plenty of other ticketing firms out there, including, you know, the theater cashier.

Computational lexical analysis of Flamenco genres
Rosillo-Rodes, Pablo, Miguel, Maxi San, Sanchez, David
Flamenco, recognized by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, is a profound expression of cultural identity rooted in Andalusia, Spain. However, there is a lack of quantitative studies that help identify characteristic patterns in this long-lived music tradition. In this work, we present a computational analysis of Flamenco lyrics, employing natural language processing and machine learning to categorize over 2000 lyrics into their respective Flamenco genres, termed as $\textit{palos}$. Using a Multinomial Naive Bayes classifier, we find that lexical variation across styles enables to accurately identify distinct $\textit{palos}$. More importantly, from an automatic method of word usage, we obtain the semantic fields that characterize each style. Further, applying a metric that quantifies the inter-genre distance we perform a network analysis that sheds light on the relationship between Flamenco styles. Remarkably, our results suggest historical connections and $\textit{palo}$ evolutions. Overall, our work illuminates the intricate relationships and cultural significance embedded within Flamenco lyrics, complementing previous qualitative discussions with quantitative analyses and sparking new discussions on the origin and development of traditional music genres.

How Artificial Intelligence (A.I) Can Help to Combat Fake News
Recent technological advancements like the internet have vastly improved the speed and the mode of communication, but they have given rise to a new problem, "fake news." Fake news is a false story or information peddled to push a narrative or the cause of the source. Every internet user, at some point, has come across fake news. The stories are usually written to sensationalize or muddle the truth and are spread faster than the truth, according to a 2018 research. Essentially, the chances of an internet user receiving accurate information are relatively small. As a result, most internet users are susceptible to consuming twisted or falsified materials that fit a narrative.

In this paper, we report experimental results from augmenting Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) with multi-step-ahead strategies for traffic speed prediction. For multi-step-ahead time series forecasting, researchers have applied MIMO, recursive, and direct strategies to machine learning methods in other domains. We applied the recursive and direct strategies to the GRU networks for predicting multi-step-ahead traffic speed and compared the prediction errors with the GRU network without the strategies (i.e. Based on the results from the experiments, we found that the direct strategy and the MIMO strategy produce models with smaller error metrics as compared to the recursive strategy. The direct strategy is computationally very expensive, thus MIMO strategy i.e. the GRU architecture without any strategy, is our preferred recommendation.
AI and Big Data at the service of truth
Aletheia, a Greek word for the unveiling of truth, has had alternate fortunes in the history of Western thought, becoming appreciated in the philosophical debate of the twentieth century. Today it has again become central to social and political discussion, after the Oxford English Dictionary defined and recognized the term Post-truth as "word of the year" in 2016. Since then, this theme has seen key roles being taken on by fake news, the political debate around the theme of misinformation (which we must not translate with the simple concept of disinformation, whose connotation is much more intelligence-oriented) and finally deep fakes, that is, videos similar to real ones, but elaborately fabricated, thanks to Artificial Intelligence techniques. How greatly these issues have an impact on our daily lives today is demonstrated by the fact that many operators believe they are capable of putting at risk the proper performance of democratic processes. Climate, immigration and the European context are typical scenarios in which false news can influence the perception of social and commercial actions.
