3 Ways Artificial Intelligence Has Sparked Marketing and Sales Transformation

#artificialintelligence

Artificial intelligence, or AI as it's called, has been a buzzword for nearly a decade already, yet sometimes it still feels as though we're just in the early stages of discovering what predictive analytics and machine learning can do for enterprises. Nowhere is this truer than in marketing and sales functions. According to Forrester, as of 2017 marketing and sales accounted for more than 50 percent of all AI investments. But when you look at investors who have already sunk serious money into AI projects, only 45 percent have seen any results at all. And among those who are seeing results, 25 percent agree that they've become more effective in their business processes.

Epson at the forefront of computer printers, artificial intelligence

BY SHAHD ALHAMDAN SAUDI GAZETTE L IGHTSCENE EV-100 and SC-T5100 printer were some of the technologies presented by Epson, one of the largest manufacturers of computer printers, during GITEX Technology Week 2018 in Dubai. Regional Sales Director for picture at Epson Jason Whiley said Epson's Lightscene EV-100 has marked its regional market entry at the event. He said "another new entrant is Epson's large format SC-T5100 printer that allows users to print technical and CAD drawings in great detail up to 36. We also demonstrated our new Workforce Pro WF-C8690DWF printer, a highly reliable A3 business inkjet for small to medium workgroups. It will keep costs low and productivity high."

How AI Is Streamlining Marketing and Sales

#artificialintelligence

In 1950, Alan Turing, already famous for helping to crack the German Enigma code during World War II, devised the Turing test to define intelligence in machines. Could a computer, Turing asked, fool a human into thinking he was interacting with another person, or imitate human responses so well that it would be impossible for a person to tell the difference? If the machine could, Turing proposed, it could be considered intelligent. Turing's thought experiment spawned scores of science-fiction tales, such as the 2015 hit movie Ex Machina. Now, artificial intelligence (AI) and autonomous algorithms are not only passing the Turing test every day but, more importantly, are making and saving money for the businesses that deploy them.

Drone glasses are a great idea, just don't lose your drone

USATODAY - Tech Top Stories

Mike Leyva from Epson, demonstrates the company's Moverio augmented reality smart glasses during the Drone Rodeo held annually before the Consumer Electronics Show. Connect the Moverio BT-200 ($699) Smart Glasses to your drone, ditch the regular viewfinder, and with the dorky shades over your eyes, look up and see what the drone sees. I'm supposed to have it in my line of sight, per the Federal Aviation Authority. If my drone is flying over the ocean and takes a turn, I could lose the unit, and that's a rather scary feeling. To be fair, the Moverio, from printer manufacturer Epson, doesn't totally engulf your vision like virtual reality headsets.

How Digital Printing Technology Is Taking Us Closer To Fully Customizable Clothing

Forbes - Tech

The future of fashion, according to Epson, is all about customization โ€“ from the prints and colors we choose to wear, to indeed the size and shape that best suits us. Tie together digital printing, a bit of artificial intelligence and some robotics on the end, and it's a vision that's not too far off, which is precisely what the technology company is hoping to help make possible on all accounts. Its senior team, including global president Minoru Usui, was in New York last week to host its third annual "Digital Couture" event. This saw 13 design teams from across North and Latin America leveraging Epson's dye-sublimation and direct-to-fabric printing technology to create small collections that were presented during an evening event held ahead of New York Fashion Week. The occasion also served to officially introduce the fact Epson acquired Italian textile printer manufacturer Robustelli in 2016.

In 2017 drones are getting faster, more fun and easy to fix

Engadget

Drones aren't new to CES, but it's only the last year or two that they got their own dedicated area in the convention hall. But, drones are meant to fly free, and not behind netting, so some bright spark invented the Drone Rodeo: an annual off-site event where the latest and greatest in UAVs could do their thing as nature intended. The event is back this year, and once again, it was a pretty good snapshot of what's going to be hot in the drone world in 2017. The star of this year's show was undoubtedly UVify. I already got to meet with their team ahead of time, to cover their no-compromises (yet accessible) racing drone called Draco.
