Leveraging the Power of Advanced AI to Enhance Fleet Safety - ELE Times

#artificialintelligence

Whether your company has a large fleet or only a few vehicles, fleet safety should always be a top priority. Safety initiatives not only save lives but also have a major impact on your bottom line. Every year, on-the-job highway crashes cost employers an average of $26,081 per crash, $66,119 per million vehicle miles of travel, and $78,418 per injury. To get a sense of how fast these numbers add up, let's say your fleet has 1,000 crashes. Besides the obvious benefits of a safety program, fleets that integrate safety into every part of their business reap a range of intrinsic benefits, like improved accountability across every department, higher morale, better productivity, and increased driver retention.

Bengaluru: Artificial Intelligence can reduce road accidents, says a study

BENGALURU: Artificial Intelligence influences driving behaviour and could reduce fatal road incidents by 2035, says a study conducted by the Indian Institute of Science along with Zoomcar and Netradyne. Netradyne had commissioned its vision-based driver assistance and safety platform'Driveri' in 500 Zoomcars on a pilot basis. "Driver is an advanced driver-assistance system that analyses the driving journey, road data and also monitors driving behaviour through AI. Driveri is equipped with four HD inward- and outward-looking cameras that record and trigger voice alerts based on driving incidents in real time," the release said. Driveri's voice alerts and outward camera features were activated in 250 test cars, and in the remaining 250, the outward camera was switched on but the voice-alert feature deactivated.

Incorporating Driver Safety into Your Culture to Increase Retention

#artificialintelligence

Driver turnover has been above 90 percent for more than nine consecutive quarters and shows little sign of slowing down. What's more is that issues related to management and workplace policies and communication have caused 30 percent of drivers to leave their job. Keeping your drivers safe, recognizing them for doing the right thing, and offering a solid feedback loop are key to increasing driver engagement -- and retention. If the people who drive your products from one place to another do not feel like you have taken extra measures to keep them safe, then they will leave for jobs that do. Where does this leave you? The more drivers you lose, the more difficult it will become to transport your products.

AI & Machine Learning Series September 2019

#artificialintelligence

Road-safety remains a large problem today, with road accidents creating greater than $800B in annual comprehensive costs and over 35,000 deaths in the US alone, and more world-wide. Additionally we'll talk about the virtuous-cycle approach we use to address IDMS corner-cases, and develop and deploy new features. Finally, we'll talk about how we leverage AI and Driveri to create dynamic high-definition (HD) maps in a scalable way. We will be serving refreshments before the talk for you to enjoy! This Event is Co-Hosted by Dynam.AI
