The Development of Artificial Intelligence in China: Advantages and terms of development

#artificialintelligence

Artificial intelligence in China is facing unprecedented development opportunities and has many advantages in terms of development. Let us make a few considerations in this regard. Significant progress has been made in the IT environment and the technological level of human society between big data, cloud computing and the Internet, which are closely related to AI and have developed quickly. AI has started to have a significant impact on the structure of human society and the dual human-machine environment is gradually developing into the third human-machine-intelligent machine environment. The cooperation and coexistence of humans, machines and intelligent machines will become the new normal of the social structure. Such harmonious coexistence is hopefully not only a need for social development, but also provides a distinct place for AI.

U.S. corporations spend $177 billion annually on talent development. But with labor competition intensifying amid the Great Resignation, expectations are growing. Employees are now demanding more diverse opportunities and have become outspoken about what will fuel their motivations and loyalty. Items of high importance include training and progressive diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) solutions. According to PwC, 85% of women and 74% of men seek employers with diversity and inclusion strategies.

Academic and Research

Applications are invited for a new prestigious DeepMind Academic Fellow in Machine Learning at Queen Mary University of London. Following a recent donation to the University from DeepMind, this three-year Fellowship is created to provide an opportunity for an excellent early career researcher in the fields of Computer Science and/or Machine Learning/ Artificial Intelligence to further their research and prepare for a full academic role within a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have completed a PhD in a relevant field (or expect to have completed by this September) and have clear and ambitious plans for their future research, alongside the enthusiasm to act as a role model for Black researchers of the future. We particularly encourage applications from those who are in under-represented groups, and particularly those who identify as Black, as Black staff are under-represented at this level within the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science at Queen Mary. The Fellowship will be research-focused and the successful candidate will be allocated a research studentship to support outputs.

Four Steps for Using AI and Machine Learning for Succession Planning

Today, organizations across the globe are faced with an alarming reality: in the very near future, a significant number of senior leaders will hit average retirement age. According to the Pew Research Center, 10,000 baby boomers per day are turning 65 in the US alone. A vice president of human resources, realizing that 75% of the senior leaders in his large global manufacturing company are less than five years away from the average retirement age, described the situation as watching "a train wreck about to happen." It is not unusual for organizational leaders to find themselves with no particular idea as to who the future leaders will be, what the criteria is to select them, and how to prepare them for their future roles. Part of the problem is the sheer number of leaders that must be groomed for leadership positions.
