But he could face some stiff competition from a rather unexpected musician - Xiaomi's humanoid robot, CyberOne. A new video shows the $104,000 robot drumming along to a song with expert precision. Drumming isn't CyberOne's only skill - it also has arms and legs that allow it to walk just like a real human, while the android is fitted with AI technology that allows it to detect 45 human emotions. Xiaomi demos new CyberOne bipedal robot - The Robot Report

#artificialintelligence

Xiaomi unveiled its bipedal robot CyberOne at an event in Beijing earlier this week. CyberOne's advanced arms and legs, as well as Xiaomi's self-developed humanoid bipedal control algorithm, support bipedal-motion posture balancing. The robot is programmed with a natural and stable walking posture, and has well-developed coordination and motion capabilities. The robot's advanced vision capabilities are provided by a self-developed Mi-Sense depth vision module and combined with an AI interaction algorithm. This gives CyberOne the ability to perceive 3D space, and recognize individuals, gestures and expressions.

The Morning After: A humanoid robot and a foldable phone from the same company

Engadget

Xiaomi had a busy Thursday. It revealed a new slimmer foldable smartphone to go up against Samsung's just-announced Galaxy Z Fold 4, then made that appear dull when its own humanoid robot prototype walked on stage. The Xiaomi CyberOne is 177cm (5.8 feet) tall, weighs 52kg (115 pounds) and is, apparently, a Leo. It comes before Tesla's humanoid vision arrived as a real-world prototype. But there's some definite style overlap.

Xiaomi beats Tesla to building a working robot

Engadget

Forget about that crazy-thin foldable phone from earlier. Xiaomi just beat Tesla to unveiling a working humanoid robot prototype at a live event earlier today, and yes, it looks awfully familiar. The Xiaomi CyberOne is 177cm (5.8 feet) tall, weighs 52kg (115 pounds), is nicknamed "Metal Bro" and is also somehow given a zodiac sign, Leo. After a short walk to the middle of the stage, the CyberOne gave CEO Lei Jun a flower (for some reason), before it politely accepted a selfie with the man responsible for its very own existence. The bot was able to walk off the stage without any drama. The CyberOne is the second product coming out of the Xiaomi Robotics Lab, after the CyberDog from August 2021.
