Sutton's predictions v Crookhaven stars Amari Bacchus & Genesis Lynea

BBC News

Two of the teams fighting relegation meet on Sunday when Tottenham host Nottingham Forest, but are there more than just points at stake? If we do get a winner here, it is a huge boost for that team psychologically going into the international break, said BBC Sport football expert Chris Sutton. But, for the losing manager, it could mean the sack. That applies to Forest's Vitor Pereira as well as Igor Tudor at Spurs - this is a classic game where triumph or disaster awaits both clubs. Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against AI, BBC Sport readers and a variety of guests. His guests for week 31 are Amari Bacchus and Genesis Lynea, stars of new CBBC drama series Crookhaven. Crookhaven begins with a double bill on Sunday, 22 March at 15:05 GMT on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, and at 17:25 on CBBC. The full series will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer from this date.

Sutton's predictions v singer-songwriter & Newcastle fan Andrew Cushin

BBC News

Will the start of 2026 see a change of fortune for BBC Sport football expert Chris Sutton, whose title hopes are fading fast? After Sutton made a strong start to the season, AI has taken charge of the predictions title race, clinching another win last week. It's been a bad start to the new year for me, with AI top of the table, Sutton said. I also lost to my daugher Sophia at cards over Christmas. We played rummy and I think she was cheating - a lot like AI, she was definitely getting some help from somewhere. Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against AI, BBC Sport readers and a variety of guests. For week 20, he takes on singer-songwriter Andrew Cushin, who is a Newcastle fan.

Sutton's predictions v Tailenders host Felix White

BBC News

Aston Villa are going for a fourth successive Premier League victory when they travel to Brighton on Wednesday, but should Unai Emery's side change the way they have been scoring goals on their winning run? There is apparently some debate about whether Villa's xG (expected goals) is unsustainable because they are scoring from long range, but that's nonsense, said BBC Sport football expert Chris Sutton. Villa have good players who can shoot from the edge of the box, so are you seriously going to tell them not to shoot now, because of xG? Give me a break. Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against AI, BBC Sport readers and a variety of guests. For the midweek fixtures in week 14, he takes on musician, author and Fulham fan Felix White. White is the guitarist with The Maccabees and 86TVs. His new book'Whatever will be, will be: A Matter of Life and Football' is out now.

'It's a new world': the analysts using AI to psychologically profile elite players

The Guardian

Listen to any pundit's post-match reaction and you will hear variations of that soundbite. But can you analyse an athlete's state of mind, based on their on-pitch body language? In an era when football is increasingly leaning on data to demonstrate physical attributes, statistics offering an accurate indication of a player's psychological qualities, such as emotional control and leadership, are harder to come by. But Premier League clubs including Brighton are using a technique intended to help in that regard with selection and recruitment. Thomas Tuchel made headlines by telling England's players to communicate more after he evaluated their interactions during the final of Euro 2024, but counting the number of times players gesture or talk to each other on the pitch tells only part of the mental battle being played out.

UK parliamentary candidate runs as 'first AI lawmaker' with interactive AI avatar

FOX News

United Kingdom businessman and MP candidate Steve Endacott campaigned using an AI-generated avatar that engages with locals on policy ideas and asks them for their suggestions. Are you worried about AI taking over your job? You can write to your local MP, who might just be an AI too. Businessman Steve Endacott is among hundreds of candidates running in the July 4 national election in Britain to become a member of parliament (MP). Here's his hook: the face on the campaign leaflet is an AI-generated avatar of the 59-year-old, not the man himself.

Woman whose washer and dryer had broken for two YEARS uses ChatGPT to write a letter to her landlord

Daily Mail - Science & tech

A woman successfully used ChatGPT to encourage her landlord to fix a washer and dryer that had been out of order for over two years. The washing machine of a New York City apartment was fixed soon after 28-year-old Svetlana sent a legally charged chatbot letter to her landlord. Svetlana, who did not wish to reveal her last name, claimed the bot was'super-smart' after quoting specific sections of New York rent law to back its case. She said: 'That's the beauty of ChatGPT; the ability to collaborate, bounce ideas, put thoughts into a cohesive piece of writing. The New York resident first had qualms with her landlord after receiving a rent increase notice of 0.4 per cent, from $1,389 to $1,395 (£1116 to £1121).

Hiking4Autism - Fundraising for Ai4Autism, organized by SJ Mufti

#artificialintelligence

I like hiking and I'm going to walk from Brighton to Scotland to raise money and awareness to kick-start our smart-device to help people with autism using the power of Ai. I'm doing this for the children I know who have autism, the people in my life with autistic family members and for people who want technology that genuinely makes lives better. Artificial Intelligence, or AI for short, is a study of automated systems, designed to help us with difficult tasks. Autism refers to a range of human conditions that could affect how a person relates to, interacts with and understands the world around them. There are currently over 700,000 diagnosed with Autism in the UK (Source www.autism.org.uk)

40 Million New Reasons Why AI Continues to Drive Recruiting Technology

#artificialintelligence

If you're still wondering about the role that AI will play as recruiting technology evolves, there are about 40 million new reasons to believe it will continue to heavily influence the future. Paradox, a conversational AI platform, announced yesterday that it received $40 million in new funding. The company, whose clients include McDonald's, CVS, Unilever, and other large organizations, plans to "leverage the funding to expedite its vision of a future where AI is a liberating force to help people do their best work," according to the company's press release. As Paradox's founder and CEO Aaron Matos explains, "No one goes into recruiting or HR because they like screening resumes, scheduling interviews, or managing paperwork." Hence, the company is looking to advance efforts around using its AI assistant, Olivia, to relieve common administrative burdens.

Call for English councils to be given powers to regulate Airbnb

The Guardian

Local councils in England must be given powers to regulate Airbnb and other short-term letting sites in order to alleviate the "intolerable" pressure they put on the availability of local housing, the Green party MP, Caroline Lucas, has said. Her intervention followed a Guardian investigation that found one Airbnb listing for every four residential properties in some hotspots across Britain. Airbnb has disputed the finding. Meanwhile, an organisation representing landlords has warned that imminent tax changes will drive an increasing number of landlords towards Airbnb and its rivals, depriving renters of long-term, stable tenancies. Last month Lucas asked the government to make it easier for councils to impose a 90-day cap on homes let out on Airbnb and other online platforms.
