Soundcore Nebula P1i projector review: An affordable option with accurate color and loud sound
Anker's P1i offers an easy setup, Google TV and fold out speakers, but lacks brightness. Anker's Soundcore projectors have become an attractive option for buyers thanks to models like the P1 and Nebula X1 that combine performance and portability. Now, the company has added affordability to that equation with its latest model, the $369 P1i . Instead of being detachable like on the P1, its speakers fold out toward listeners, promising better and louder sound than most cheap projectors. The P1i also delivers 1080p video, Google TV for streaming and the same easy screen fit setup as other Anker projectors.

All the tech and gadgets announced at CES 2026
It's the first week of a new year and there's no time for the tech world to slowly ease back into things following the holidays. That's because CES 2026 is in full swing, with all manner of companies descending on Las Vegas to reveal their latest innovations and what they're planning to bring your way in the near future. Many of the Engadget crew are on the ground to check out as much of the new tech as possible. Samsung held its First Look presentation, which focuses on home products, while LG has shown off a wide array of TVs and Lego unveiled its new Smart Brick technology. We've heard from the major chipmakers, gone hands-on with Samsung's trifold phone, checked out some funky laptops and seen some cute robots. There's some hot gaming gear at the show too, not to mention some weird tech . You don't necessarily have to wait to get your hands on all of these gadgets either. Some are available to buy right now. You can catch up on all of the big CES 2026 announcements (and some of the more offbeat gizmos we've seen) right here. We'll be keeping this story updated throughout the week. We also have CES live updates, with all the latest news from the event. Lego introduced the Smart Brick at CES 2026. In its first CES appearance, Lego announced the Smart Brick, a standard-sized brick with a 4.1mm ASIC chip inside that's designed to respond in different ways depending on what set you're building and how you're building it. Using what Lego calls the "Play Engine" and integrated copper coils, each brick can sense things like motion, orientation and magnetic fields, plus its own distance, direction and orientation in relation to other Smart Bricks. Each brick also has a teeny tiny speaker built in that will play audio "tied to live play actions" rather than only pre-recorded clips. Accompanying Smart Bricks are Smart Tags and Smart Minifigures, which have their own capabilities -- one of which is letting Smart Bricks know what context they are being used in. All of these pieces tie together via a local wireless layer dubbed BrickNet that, in part, lets Smart Bricks know where they are placed in relation to other smart components.

Anker's Soundcore Work AI voice recorder offers transcription in an ultra-compact form factor
Anker's Soundcore Work AI voice recorder offers transcription in an ultra-compact form factor The company revealed the cute little doodad at CES. Anker's sub-brand Soundcore just announced a new AI voice recorder at . The appropriately-named Work voice recorder is primarily intended for professionals, but also seems useful for students and anyone else who wants an AI to transcribe conversations. To that end, the company promises 97-percent transcription accuracy via the AI algorithm. The affiliated app will also provide summaries of conversations, like many modern AI tools. Users can double-tap the gadget during important parts of a conversation to ensure it gets preferential treatment.
Anker's CES smart home lineup includes a 1,600 Eufy robovac
It seems like only a few years ago that Anker made nothing more than batteries and chargers . But 15 years into its history, the company's CES portfolio continues to illustrate how much it's expanded. Among other announcements, the company has a new robot vacuum, video doorbell, outdoor light and smart lock. The company hopes its Eufy Clean Robot Vacuum Omni S2 will be your next robovac. Anker claims the vac works on shag carpets up to about 2 inches (5 cm) in pile height.
AURA: Affordance-Understanding and Risk-aware Alignment Technique for Large Language Models
Adak, Sayantan, Chatterjee, Pratyush, Banerjee, Somnath, Hazra, Rima, Aditya, Somak, Mukherjee, Animesh
Present day LLMs face the challenge of managing affordance-based safety risks-situations where outputs inadvertently facilitate harmful actions due to overlooked logical implications. Traditional safety solutions, such as scalar outcome-based reward models, parameter tuning, or heuristic decoding strategies, lack the granularity and proactive nature needed to reliably detect and intervene during subtle yet crucial reasoning steps. Addressing this fundamental gap, we introduce AURA, an innovative, multi-layered framework centered around Process Reward Models (PRMs), providing comprehensive, step level evaluations across logical coherence and safety-awareness. Our framework seamlessly combines introspective self-critique, fine-grained PRM assessments, and adaptive safety-aware decoding to dynamically and proactively guide models toward safer reasoning trajectories. Empirical evidence clearly demonstrates that this approach significantly surpasses existing methods, significantly improving the logical integrity and affordance-sensitive safety of model outputs. This research represents a pivotal step toward safer, more responsible, and contextually aware AI, setting a new benchmark for alignment-sensitive applications.

Eufy's new robot mowers use smart vision to trim your grass
Anker's lifestyle brand Eufy has already swallowed a big chunk of the robot vacuum market and now it's got its sights on your yard. The company has been sharing details of its first two robot mowers since the start of the year, and now they're ready to start selling them. Eufy's E15 and E18 are designed to automate one of the most tedious jobs around the home -- if you're able to pay. I've been testing an E15 for the last few weeks ahead of their retail debut today and I'm fairly impressed. Early robot mowers needed a boundary wire to tell them where they were allowed to mow.
Anker's Eufy 3-in-1 E20 robot vacuum is 150 off during the Amazon Big Spring Sale
Anker's Eufy 3-in-1 E20 robot vacuum is 150 off right now, as part of Amazon's Big Spring Sale. That brings the price down to 450, which is a record low. For those averse to using Amazon, the deal is also available directly from the company. The E20 made our list of the best robot vacuums, and with good reason. We loved the hybrid functionality, as this robovac quickly transforms into a cordless stick vacuum and a handheld unit.

Anker's 'AI party speaker' can automatically remove vocals for karaoke nights
At CES 2025, Anker has a pair of new speakers under its Soundcore brand. The first, the Soundcore Rave 3S, is a 349 party speaker with AI-powered karaoke tricks and built-in light shows. Joining it is the SoundCore Boom 2 Pro, a more powerful follow-up to its non-Pro namesake, which adds boomier bass and better protection from water and dust. The appropriately named Rave 3S is described as an "AI party speaker" with 200W output and 108dB volume. Anker says it can fill spaces of up to 1,076 square feet. Like some other Soundcore models, its RGB LEDs can create a light show that syncs with the beat of your music.
8Bitdo's wired XBox controller is just 30, plus the rest of this week's best tech deals
The first few days of the year are typically sleepy for deals -- and 2025 is proving no different. Since most Black Friday sale prices have expired, big ticket items are back to full price, but we found a few new discounts on smaller tech and accessories from brands we recommend, like Anker, Sony, Amazon Echo and JBL. You can get an Anker charging station for 40 percent off and pick up the Apple Watch Series 10 for 329, a return to its all-time low. An Amazon Echo display is also selling for close to a record low. Here are the best tech deals from this week that you can still get today.
