'OpenAI' Job Scam Targeted International Workers Through Telegram
A Bangladeshi worker was eager to get started at their new OpenAI job--completing basic online tasks in exchange for consistent income, while getting into cryptocurrency investing at the same time. After connecting with the startup on Telegram and creating an account through a ChatGPT-branded app, they invested crypto into the platform and began a months-long job working for "Aiden" from "OpenAI." The work was performed through the website "OpenAi-etc," and internal conversations were held on Telegram. It was simple: Invest some crypto, complete a few tasks, and earn daily profits based on what was invested. Over the course of this worker's time with the company, mentors continuously encouraged them to invest more money into the fund and recruit more Bangladeshi people to the team.

Meet Aiko And Aiden: The World's First AI Interns - Liwaiwai
By 2050, AI would have replaced quite a number of Jobs, like couriers, workers, content writers, etc. Because of this, a majority of the human population in these (and related) fields will shift focus from working in these roles to building, managing, and collaborating with AI systems. With the consistent improvement of older technologies and the emergence of new ones, AI programs are getting better than ever. For example, ChatGPT, an AI chatbot, can generate real and natural human-like texts and can answer almost every question you have. Stable Diffusion is a text-to-image AI program that can create a life-like image from the information provided, by way of prompts. Almost all the tech giants like Google, Microsoft, Meta, and Adobe are working on their own AI programs.
Dead-eyed AI robot Ai-da sets the bar high for Truss and Kwarteng
The Bank of England has again intervened to ensure there isn't a fire sale of UK government bonds by pension funds. The Institute for Fiscal Studies has published a report saying the government will have to find £60bn of spending cuts over four years to pay for the recent mini-budget. The International Monetary Fund has restated its criticism of said mini-budget indicating that the unfunded cuts will ramp up inflation. With all this going on, you might have thought that Kwasi Kwarteng and his Treasury gang might have been feeling a bit chastened. After all, it's not every chancellor who gets to screw up their first budget on such a grand scale.

RBC to Expand AI-Based Trading Platform
RBC Capital Markets is preparing to launch Aiden in Europe and to launch another algorithm on its artificial intelligence-based electronic trading platform. Shary Mudassir, co-head of global electronic trading at RBC Capital Markets, told Markets Media: "We are in the final stages of preparing to launch Aiden in Europe over the coming months." The Canadian bank launched Aiden in October last year after being developed jointly by RBC Capital Markets and Borealis AI, a research center created by the bank. The platform has been available to RBC Capital Markets clients trading in U.S. and Canadian equities. "As client activity and data increased, we began exploring ways to make changes more efficiently and started investing in machine learning and artificial intelligence with Borealis AI five years ago," added Mudassir.

Why AI That Teaches Itself to Achieve a Goal Is the Next Big Thing
Lee Sedol, a world-class Go Champion, was flummoxed by the 37th move Deepmind's AlphaGo made in the second match of the famous 2016 series. So flummoxed that it took him nearly 15 minutes to formulate a response. The move was strange to other experienced Go players as well, with one commentator suggesting it was a mistake. In fact, it was a canonical example of an artificial intelligence algorithm learning something that seemed to go beyond just pattern recognition in data -- learning something strategic and even creative. Indeed, beyond just feeding the algorithm past examples of Go champions playing games, Deepmind developers trained AlphaGo by having it play many millions of matches against itself.
How banks are harnessing artificial intelligence
Since 2016, Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has focused on AI through its dedicated research division called Borealis AI. In October 2020, Borealis AI and RBC announced the launch of Aiden, an AI-driven electronic trading platform for institutional investors. Aiden uses "reinforcement learning," a form of AI based on behavioural psychology that either rewards or penalizes an algorithm when it makes a decision. This is the same type of machine learning used for AlphaGo, a Google-owned computer program that beat a human player at Go, a sophisticated board game, in 2016. But making trading decisions in a live market is more complicated than playing a board game, noted Foteini Agrafioti, chief science officer at RBC and head of Borealis AI. "It's a much more complex environment where we were able to deploy [Aiden] and we're extremely happy with the results," she said.
