A World Destroyed by Artificial Intelligence and Robotics – EntryPost

#artificialintelligence

Is it possible for a student to be smarter than a lecturer? An intern to be smarter than a manager? Or a low-ranking church member to be well versed with the ins and outs of Christianity better than a priest? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then maybe I should reconsider the verdict I gave on the article I wrote about robots taking over the world. Think about it, we humans are programming robots, giving them instructions similar to how a teacher teaches students.

Indian colleges accelerate work on Indic languages gen AI

#artificialintelligence

Generative AI platforms have been the rage since the second half of last year with Microsoft and Google pushing these programs into their existing services. Even the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), on 3 February, said it is "cognizant" of the emergence and proliferation of generative AI and noted that AI can be a "kinetic enabler" for growth in India. However, researchers at institutes underline a host of challenges for generative AI projects in academia, the biggest of which lie in sourcing ample data of Indic languages, the cost of such projects, and the scale of computing power needed. Indian researchers have been working on such projects for more than three years. "In academia, we're using techniques from language models, namely the transformer architecture, for different tasks such as classification of data, answering questions, machine translation and building chatbots," said Tapas Kumar Mishra, assistant professor of computer science engineering at National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela.

Tracking Extraterrestrial Packages with AI

#artificialintelligence

The next generation of artificial intelligence (AI) systems is likely to include a machine more complex than the human brain, since the existing 100 trillion connections of GPT-4 are only a factor of 6 shy of the number of synapses in the human brain. Although the machine will be trained on human-made texts, it will develop its own qualities of mind by learning from new personal experiences. It will likely mature similarly to the way that children become independent adults who take legal responsibility for their actions. Humanity gave birth to an alien baby in its technological belly. Alarm bells are starting to sound about the existential risk that AI may bring as an alien entity.

On the heels of Bloomberg's announcement last week on developing their own #chatgpt based on their wealth of financial data, it shouldn't be a surprise that many organizations are investing in building their own proprietary AI generative language models. While I have been talking about AI Governance for the past few years, the need for such a framework is more important than ever. Past conversations focused on model management and governance but the focus should also be the data for training and learning sets. Data especially in unstructured form serves as the largest source for AI models but considering the maturity state in many organizations, how well are organizations labeling and tagging the data for business and operational context? My guess is that its fairly poorly for unstructured data and hopefully improved in terms of structured data.

The Revolutionary Impact of AI Voice Cloning on Podcasts: Opportunities and Ethical Challenges - Grit Daily News

#artificialintelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is on course to become the next industrial revolution, impacting nearly every industry in one way or another. And that includes podcasting, where AI voice cloning technology is changing the landscape by offering content creators the ability to generate lifelike voices with ease. The cutting-edge innovation is expected to transform audio production, with AI-powered tools becoming increasingly popular among podcast hosts and producers. However, it is necessary to take a broad look at the production process using AI voice cloning, ethical concerns, and what the future of podcasting might hold as AI-generated voices become more difficult to distinguish. Just want to listen to a podcast?

Artificial intelligence in Medicine

#artificialintelligence

"Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards" . In the year 1996 when I started my medical studies, the entire world was going towards advancements in their respective fields at a faster rate and the field of Medicine did not fall behind . Information technology was gaining importance as critical Y2k was coming up. Technology has always been evolving with the needs of the population which was very visible as i look back now. Those were the days of making better machine to understand the human body with the fundamental knowledge of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Ethics, Engineering and Informatics .

Install Auto-GPT Locally (Quick Setup Guide) - AI Marketing

#artificialintelligence

"This is a video that's by request… I talked about Auto-GPT in a past video and people asked me to show how to install it. Auto-GPT is a tool that uses GPT-4 and is connected to the web. It's designed to process a user's goal and continue taking steps until it reaches its desired destination. Auto-GPT, along with other tools like baby AGI and hugging GPT, brings us one step closer to True AGI (artificial general intelligence). If you're interested in using this tool yourself, this quick setup guide will walk you through how to install Auto-GPT on your computer.

"Unbelievable, Visionary": US Commerce Secretary Recounts Her Meeting With PM Modi

#artificialintelligence

US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, recounting her recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said that India and America would lead the artificial intelligence revolution. Ms Raimondo, who visited India in March, said the best of India was at display during her visit, in terms of culture, tradition and celebrations. Pictures and video clips of her playing Holi have gone viral on social media and reflect the strong relationship between the US and India. Addressing a gathering of Indian Americans at the India House, the commerce secretary fondly remembered her Holi celebrations this year in India. "I was recently in India. I went a day earlier so that I could have the opportunity to participate in Holi. And the defence minister was so gracious to host me with his family," Ms Raimondo said on Saturday.

How Can ChatGPT Predict Stock Movement?

#artificialintelligence

Alejandro Lopez-Lira, a money teacher at the College of Florida, says that enormous language models might be valuable to predict stock movements. He utilized ChatGPT AI chatbot to parse news titles for whether they're positive or negative for a stock, and tracked down that ChatGPT's capacity to anticipate the following day's profits was superior to irregular, he said in a new unreviewed paper. The investigation strikes at the core of the commitment around cutting-edge man-made brainpower: With greater PCs and better datasets-like those driving ChatGPT-these artificial intelligence models might show "emanant capacities," or abilities that weren't initially arranged when they were constructed. If ChatGPT can show the new capacity to comprehend titles from monetary news and what they could mean for stock movements, it could endanger lucrative positions in the monetary business. Around 35% of monetary positions are in danger of being computerized by artificial intelligence, Goldman Sachs assessed in a Walk 26 note.

Australian universities split on using new tool to detect AI plagiarism

#artificialintelligence

Australian universities are split on whether to adopt a new tool which claims to detect AI-generated plagiarism with a near-perfect success rate, citing concerns over out-of-date models and the minimal notice the sector was given to assess the issue. Turnitin's detection tool, launched this month, cites a 98% efficacy rate at picking up the "high probability" of AI. Of almost a dozen universities who responded to Guardian Australia, the University of Melbourne, the University of New South Wales and Western Sydney University have adopted the tool and several were considering integrating it into their detection programs. But others said the Turnitin tool was rushed and raised concerns over its efficacy. Deakin University associate professor in digital learning, Trish McCluskey, said despite Turnitin's alleged high efficiency rate, it hadn't had the opportunity to test the claim prior to the public release of the tool.
