Artificial Intelligence: Is it real?

Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Sentiment Analysis, Prediction, Image Processing, Video Processing... these (and many other) buzzwords have found their way to regular news, from research papers. They are found in almost every business article, every strategy document, every implementation proposal and every resume. This means, all of a sudden, millions of people are reading about these technologies, and I wonder how much they really understand. When'Rocket Science' or'Quantum Mechanics' is considered as the height of not-easy-to-understand-ness, people are quick to judge AI and related topics as easy-to-understand. This is really puzzling and worrying!
