Georgia Tech's Ashkok Goel says automated 'nano tutors' will take-off in education

#artificialintelligence

Professor Goel explained that with a chat bot there were no major consequences from a wrong or nonsensical answer. But if Jill Watson gave a wrong answer to a question about the word limit on an assessable it could damage a student's results. He says he is sometimes asked if Jill Watson passes the Turing test – the benchmark for artificial intelligence specified by British computing pioneer Alan Turing – which says that a bot, when asked questions, should be indistinguishable from a human.
