A developer shrank Windows 11 down to just 667MB. It fits on a CD

PCWorld reports that developer NTDEV has shrunk Windows 11 from 35GB down to just 667MB, creating a stripped-down version called Pico11 that fits on a CD. Pico11 removes bloatware, AI features, Microsoft Edge, and Copilot, retaining only seven basic apps like Notepad and Calculator, with an installed size of around 883MB. The project appears to be a proof of concept, showing how lean Windows 11 can potentially become. One developer has shrunk Windows 11--which, when fully installed, typically takes up to 35GB of storage space--down to an astonishing 667MB prior to installation and only 883MB after installation. That's a 97.5% shrinkdown, and the end result is small enough to fit on a single CD.
