Will quantum computing change the world?
Computing could be set to take a quantum leap, ushering in a new era of fast, powerful, processing which could change the world. That's according to some of the speakers at a Cambridge Wireless technology conference, which focused on the'quantum computing revolution'. Based in the theory of quantum mechanics, quantum computing applies ideas such as super-position and entanglement to dealing with data. Or, as Colin Williams from quantum computing firm D-Wave, put it: "Classical computing is based on having a one or a zero. In quantum computing you can have lots of ones and zeros at the same time."
