Understanding Machine Learning: How machines learn?

Never doubted it myself till I met a computer with a sense of humor." This post is the first in a series of articles in which we will explain what Machine Learning is. You don't have to have formal training or experience in data analysis. We will write using simple language, without unnecessary technical jargon. Let's start with the definition, of course.
