Google's A.I. can identify image locations - News Independent

The latest addition to Google's artificial intelligence is called PlaNet and it can identify the location of a photo just by looking at it. PlaNet was developed by Google computer vision specialist Tobias Weyand along with James Philbin, developer Ilya Kostrikov and other Google specialists. This new system uses the pixels in a photograph to determine familiar landmarks or unique architecture. Furthermore, this A.I. uses deep-learning nueral network which enables the program to become smarter as it sees more images. Its geotagging abilities were found to be far better than humans and other existing programs.
