AIhub launches focus series on life on land

As part of our ongoing focus on the UN sustainable development goals (SDGs), we are launching the next topic in this series: life on land. Posts on this topic will be featured on our website throughout October and November. The UN's aim with this goal is to protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss. In this focus issue we'll be highlighting AI work relating to these topics. In this series, our planned content includes an article by Andres Perez-Uribe and Louis Reymondin on AI tools for assessing zero-deforestation commitments, coverage of the use of machine learning to track the illegal wildlife trade, studies of crops and land use, interviews, and more.
