Now, Alexa can vacuum your house, too

Soon, vacuuming might be as easy as saying, "Alexa, ask Roomba to begin cleaning." Today, robot vacuum pioneer iRobot announced two new models with Wi-Fi connectivity. The all-new Roomba 690 and 890 can also be controlled by Amazon's Alexa voice assistant. That means owners of an Amazon Echo, Dot, or Tap can use voice commands to instruct a Roomba to start or stop cleaning, or to return to its charging dock. Both the 690 and 890 can be controlled through the iRobot app, which allows users to start cleaning remotely, monitor progress, see notifications if the vacuum needs service, and schedule when vacuuming takes place.
