Artificial intelligence and the new atheism

Elon Musk, the driving force behind Tesla, the world's first driverless motor vehicle, is among the growing number of people who are warning us about the increasing dominance which artificial intelligence (AI), is exercising over our lives in the form of computers, robots and other devices. Musk has said that in AI we have created more than a mere Frankenstein's monster: we have created an entity which will become an "immortal dictator" and enslave all humankind in perpetuity. Human dictators are mortal and eventually die, liberating their subjects from oppression. But AI will be a deathless dictator from whom we can never hope to free ourselves. In its various forms, AI already runs much of our daily lives.
