AlphaGo: How AI Mastered the Game of Go

In 2016 AlphaGo beat the world's best player at the game of go. Then, it seemed impossible; now, it is remembered as a key milestone in the history of machine learning. Games, whether they are board games or video-games, are the perfect platform to test, evaluate and improve machine learning models. Games often have a very clear scoring system, and therefore present a clear and effective way to quantify and measure progress.
