The Tokyo Institute of Technology Global Scientific Information (Tokyo Tech) and Computing Center (GSIC) have begun the development and construction of a supercomputer that's expected to meet the demands of artificial intelligence (AI) and big data applications and process in the petaFLOPS range, which is a quadrillion floating point operations per second (FLOPS).
