AI Startups Find an Unlikely Friend: Oracle -- The Information
Top cloud providers are jostling to sign deals with artificial intelligence startups that need computing resources as they chase OpenAI, maker of ChatGPT. An improbable early leader in the race to rent servers to these startups is Oracle, a longtime laggard in the cloud field that had developed reputational problems with some longtime customers over its aggressive sales tactics. At least six venture-backed AI startups, including Character.ai Two founders of AI startups who have used various cloud providers told The Information that Oracle can run complex machine-learning models more economically than Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud.
Walmart Leaked Memo Warns Against Employees Sharing Corporate Information With ChatGPT
Chatbots are disrupting industries in unexpected ways -- including retail. The latest evidence: A leaked memo from Walmart Global Tech warning against sharing confidential corporate or customer information with bots like ChatGPT. Business Insider reports that in a memo issued Tuesday, the big box store's tech arm said ChatGPT had been blocked following "activity that presented risk to our company." Insider indicated it viewed the memo and stated that Global Tech had evaluated and developed "usage guidelines around generative AI tools and are now opening ChatGPT for usage within the Walmart network." A Walmart spokesperson Insider contacted for comment didn't address blocking AI-powered bots but issued a statement that said in part that "new technologies present new benefits as well as new risks."

How I use ChatGPT in my data science work (4-5 hours per week time savings): I told myself I wouldn't make content around this, but here I am. I feel like I'm selling out. On the other hand, I've found ChatGPT useful and I feel like it is important to share how this tool has benefited me in my work. I usually have to look up code for this or sift through docs to create exact specifications I'm looking for. With ChatGPT, I can put into words what I'm trying to do and it gives me pretty decent examples to work with.
Overview of ChatGPT - Technology Hits - Medium
Unless you are living under the rock, it would be impossible that you have not heard of ChatGPT. It feels as if it has taken Artificial Intelligence (AI, or even for some, AGI i.e. Artificial General Intelligence) at the Peak on the Gartner Hype Cycle, because anybody-and-everybody is talking about it. ChatGPT lets you ask questions (called'prompts') and then it will respond with almost human-like, natural-sounding answers. The User Interface is made in the form chat/conversations.
ChatGPT 4: everything we know so far
ChatGPT 4 is coming, and rumors suggest it might bring massive improvements to the already incredibly impressive language skills of OpenAI's ChatGPT. To be clear, ChatGPT 4 is unlikely to be the name of OpenAI's next product, but we took a bit of creative license and combined the ChatGPT name with the improved AI model that will drive it in the future, GPT-4. Let's dig into GPT-4, how ChatGPT works now, and when OpenAI might release its next major upgrade. GPT-4 is a new language model being created by OpenAI that can generate text that is similar to human speech. It will advance the technology used by ChatGPT, which is based on GPT-3.5.
Misplaced fears of an 'evil' ChatGPT obscure the real harm being done
On 14 February, Kevin Roose, the New York Times tech columnist, had a two-hour conversation with Bing, Microsoft's ChatGPT-enhanced search engine. He emerged from the experience an apparently changed man, because the chatbot had told him, among other things, that it would like to be human, that it harboured destructive desires and was in love with him. The transcript of the conversation, together with Roose's appearance on the paper's The Daily podcast, immediately ratcheted up the moral panic already raging about the implications of large language models (LLMs) such as GPT-3.5 (which apparently underpins Bing) and other "generative AI" tools that are now loose in the world. These are variously seen as chronically untrustworthy artefacts, as examples of technology that is out of control or as precursors of so-called artificial general intelligence (AGI) โ ie human-level intelligence โ and therefore posing an existential threat to humanity. Accompanying this hysteria is a new gold rush, as venture capitalists and other investors strive to get in on the action.
Apple Reins in ChatGPT-Powered Apps
The artificial intelligence incursion has made its way to the App Store. BlueMail, an app that uses AI to write emails and manage people's calendars, was set to release an update to its service that would utilize OpenAI's popular ChatGPT engine. Apple, citing ChatGPT's ability to spew out nearly any kind of text imaginable, blocked BlueMail's updates out of concern that it could generate text that would be offensive or unfit for minors. It just stopped the app maker from publishing the update without content restriction filters. Still, BlueMail's developer has protested the move, saying Apple was stifling its innovation efforts.
14 Mind-Blowing AI Tools Everyone Should Be Trying Out Now
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is going through something of a "hot topic" moment, as applications such as ChatGPT show the world just how powerful and capable it is becoming. The emergence of this new breed of "generative" AI tools has made it clear in recent months that it is no longer something that is only important in the realm of academic research or Silicon Valley tech giants. And far from simply being the latest ยซ viral sensation, ยป AI has truly become a technology that any business or individual can leverage to revolutionize the way they work or go about any number of day-to-day activities. So, what are the tools that everyone should be getting to grips with to ensure they understand exactly what AI is capable of today? I've picked out some of the most important ones to highlight how you can start using them today.
The Impact Of ChatGPT On Marketing - AI Summary
AI will almost never be great in a silo. Love or hate Peter Thiel's politics, his position (which he shared in Zero to One) that technology and human expertise together will always be better than technology alone is one that I share. As the tools come out, everyone starts using them. While they may briefly hit a plateau of utility and become the new lowest common denominator, humans who strive to make the tool's output better will add value โ especially if the tool, as ChatGPT appears to, refines its results with time and volume (much like Facebook's ad algorithm, for example). I hear a lot of chatter about ChatGPT "will change X as we know it." And that might be true, but not necessarily in a bad way. Tech that proves truly useful and valuable โ think of how instantaneously Facebook's lookalike audiences changed the paid social game with their relevance โ won't take over as much as it will help us improve
