The 2016 tech job market reveals 2017 tech trends, says Indeed - TechRepublic
The year of (insert trend here) sounds familiar to anyone involved in the tech world. A new innovation arrives, it dominates the news cycle, and its popularity is followed by a chorus of talking heads declaring it as the product of the year. Reality is quite different: Tech trends don't really follow a yearly cycle and new computing paradigms usually take a lot more than a year to become indispensable parts of the industry. Take cloud computing for example: We said 2011 was going to be the year the cloud went completely mainstream. Now in 2017 we can see that, while definitely a fundamental piece of the IT puzzle, cloud computing still hasn't taken over and it's not likely to ever do so.
CSC Advances Industrial Machine Learning to Help Businesses Make Better Decisions Using Enterprise-Wide Data Insights
TYSONS, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CSC (NYSE: CSC) today announced the expansion of its strategic alliance with Microsoft through the advancement of Industrial Machine Learning (IML) solutions that enable data scientists to produce new data-derived enterprise insights, leading to better and more timely business decisions. Most large, data-rich companies fail to benefit from information on an enterprise-wide scale because they are not equipped to effectively capture and analyze available data sources. A recent survey from PwC and Iron Mountain found that 57 percent of businesses are unable to extract significant value from their information, and 23 percent are unable to derive any real value at all. Regardless of size, geography or sector, businesses are struggling to fully realize value from their information. "CSC has been working with Microsoft on industry-specific approaches to the problem of creating data science that works," said Dan Hushon, chief technology officer, CSC.
4 Ways Artificial Intelligence Will Revolutionize the Classroom.
It's hard to see anything other than artificial intelligence being the next frontier of the edtech front. More specifically, machine learning has quickly gained the potential to overhaul what educators can accomplish with technology due to how rapidly the field has advanced within the last two years. Using machine learning, truly "smart" education solutions that can perform intelligent, self-informed actions are poised to change how we facilitate learning inside and outside of K-12 and higher education classrooms. Here's four ways artificial intelligence is going to do just that: As edtech authority Eric Sheninger (1) has noted, digital tools can boost student collaboration while they grapple with class material. This increased and streamlined student engagement with other students, as well as the subject matter at hand, has been known to produce more holistic and deeper learning.

10 things to watch for at the intersection of Tech and Law in 2017 โ Slaw
CASL, Canada's anti-spam legislation, has been with us since July 2014. In July 2017 a private right of action becomes effective that will allow anyone who receives spam as defined by CASL to sue the sender. CASL sets out statutory damages, so the complainant does not have to prove any damages. Class actions will no doubt be launched. The sad part is that breaches of CASL are to a large extent breaches of the very technical requirements of the statute, rather than the sending of what most people would call spam.
Jump Start to Artificial Intelligence.
We are writing this blog to motivate all developer towards artificial intelligence and while reading this blog removes the complex that A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) is tough, difficult and blah, blah, blah. So now, we will explore the whole new world of artificial intelligence. So, what is artificial intelligence? Again, as we said we don't make things complicated, so, A.I. is just a piece of code which solves your real-life problem without getting any humans involved in it, or to be specific we can say that a software which is like a small child which needs some training and after that it is capable of solving your real-life problems. And if you want a specific definition by Alan Turing, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is usually defined as the science of making computers do things that require intelligence when done by humans.
Amazon Is Already Winning the Next Big Arms Race in Tech
Companies like Apple, Google, Samsung, and Microsoft have all vied for control over the phones we carry in our pockets, the computers at our desks, and even the watches on our wrists. But over the past year a new arms race has emerged in Silicon Valley: competing to develop the most sophisticated virtual assistant. That's the annual Las Vegas tech confab where gadget makers, auto manufacturers, and app developers gather to flaunt their latest and, they hope, greatest. Although Amazon didn't officially attend the conference, Alexa showed up in car infotainment systems, new smartphones, robots, lamps, and even laundry machines. Ford, Whirlpool, Lenovo, GE, and Dish are a few of the brands announcing plans to add Amazon's voice-activated helper to their hardware.
