Calcumlator by ArmlessJohn404
CalcuMLator is a calculator that utilizes Machine Learning to predict the values. Best known feature is the ability to divide any number by 0! Unfortunately I still can't run the Python code in the server so there goes a "regular" calculator. To run the app follow the instructions at the repository page. With supervised Machine Learning algorithms, it's possible to "teach" the computer a series of rules and it will repeat the learnt behaviour. In this case, perform some basic arithmetics.
Accurate Sales Forecast for Data Analysts: Building a Random Forest model with Just SQL and Hivemall Treasure Data Blog
In this blog post, we will use Hivemall, the open source Machine Learning-on-SQL library available in the Treasure Data environment, to introduce the basics of machine learning. We will use an E-Commerce dataset from Kaggle, the data science competition platform. The first challenge is predicting the retail sales for the Rossman stores (the full details at Kaggle). We will use an ensemble learning technique known as Random Forest regression. Rossman is a pharmacy chain with over 3,000 stores in seven countries within Europe.
DataRPM & Tamr partner to deliver end-to-end automation of machine learning from data ingestion to strategic business insights for their customers
WIRE)--DataRPM, the award-winning Cognitive Data Science company that automates Machine Learning to deliver Recommendation & Prediction data products, today announced a partnership with big data analytics company, Tamr, Inc. "We are truly excited about our partnership with Tamr to expand the portfolio of innovative solutions to provide end-to-end data products," said Sundeep Sanghavi, DataRPM Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. "Data integration quality and prep is a crucial requirement for every big data initiative. Our partnership further meets the expanding needs of our customers and allows them to truly leverage machine learning all the way from data ingestion to strategic business insights." "DataRPM's Cognitive Data Science Platform automates machine learning for Recommendations & Predictions to deliver continuous insights that propel enterprises' growth dramatically, thus redefining data science with scale, speed and repeatability," further explained Sundeep. "With the dramatic explosion in data, compounded by the growing shortage of data scientists, and the need for faster sprint cycles to launch strategic initiatives, the call of the hour is Cognitive Data Science. By automating Machine Learning, greater value from productized data can now be derived through operationalizing its usage within companies' process flows in a continuous manner. "Tamr's machine-driven, human-guided approach to data preparation aligns closely with DataRPM's machine learning automation," said Andy Palmer, Tamr Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. "DataRPM's Prediction and Recommendation models need a continuous flow of clean, unified data that Tamr provides.
The Future of Policing Might Be in the Cloud
What if police departments in cities and towns across the United States could use the cloud to get a real-time view of crimes that were occurring? And what if they could leverage data to better predict when and where certain kinds of crimes might happen? That's the vision Microsoft thinks could be just around the corner. The software giant, which has been ramping up its Azure cloud services business as more applications flow into the cloud, is hoping that cloud tools can help transform the way city governments tackle public safety. The City of Chicago is already experimenting with the technology.
Taylor Vinters partners with legal artificial intelligence start-up ThoughtRiver
Taylor Vinters has invested an undisclosed amount in ThoughtRiver, which will be co-located at the firm's offices in Cambridge, London and Singapore, as well as providing testing and other support services. Tim Pullan, Chief Executive of ThoughtRiver, was formerly Taylor Vinters' Head of Technology & Outsourcing in Asia when he founded the company in 2011 and has subsequently been developing the technology business with support from Taylor Vinters. This marks the second such Legal Tech equity investment by Taylor Vinters, as part of its strategy to develop innovative solutions that streamline how legal businesses operate. Four months ago, Taylor Vinters announced its first equity investment into Legal Tech start-up, Pekama - thought to be the first of its kind in the industry โ which is a cloud-based lawyer collaboration software. ThoughtRiver's Contract Intelligence software uses artificial intelligence (AI) to scan and interpret information from written contracts used in commercial risk assessments, and produces visualisations of the potential risks and other issues.
Chatbots: how artificial intelligence is starting to run our homes
My secretary, Amy Ingram (AI โ geddit?), is designed to help people organise their diaries and set up meetings. That's all she can do. But she goes about it in a freakishly human-like way. In fact, after using her for a couple of weeks, various contacts of mine โ after communicating with her over email โ said they had no idea she was not a real person. For her to do her job, you need to give her access to your electronic diary, set a few preferences (your three favourite coffee shops to meet in, for example), and copy her into any emails about meetings you want to set up.
When Well-Intentioned Artificial Intelligence Goes Bad
A week later, she was accidentally activated during testing, and within minutes had succumbed to a "kush" induced freakout. Tay is now offline, and her account made private, much like any parent will do when their teenager gets into trouble on the internet. What went wrong with Tay? No one should find it surprising that releasing a machine learning chatbot on social media, in the guise of a teenage girl no less, would result in a wave of interactions designed to test the limits of the technology -- and anyone who has ever spoken to Siri, Cortana or any other virtual assistant knows that one of the first tests involves saying the most profane statements you can think of. Microsoft was certainly aware of this; their VA, Cortana, is often subject to sexual harassment, and so she has been designed to fight back.
An End To Cold Sores Forever
The following is a short work of science fiction, inspired by an egregiously written press release. Franklin never meant to end the world. He just wanted to clear a spot on his lip. "This cold sore feels like the end of the world," Franklin thought, months before he experienced the real thing, but it was that thought which was enough to open the sketchy email his spam filter failed to catch. "Billionaire, philanthropist, entrepreneur, environmental activist John Paul DeJoria is now focusing his vision on helping people, the 3.7 billion people worldwide including the 170 million Americans who suffer with all forms of Herpes, starting with cold sores (the Herpes Virus 1)," the email opened.
