Bridgeworks launches 'transformational' machine intelligence solution - PORTrockIT - Bridgeworks

#artificialintelligence

Bridgeworks โ€“ the Self Configuring Infrastructure Optimized Network (SCION) and Data Acceleration Vendor โ€“ officially launches its new Data Acceleration solution for Wide Area Networks (WAN) โ€“ PORTrockIT. PORTrockIT is an intelligent data accelerator that uses innovative machine intelligence capabilities. It offers a solution to network issues that inhibit the speed in which data can be moved, such as latency, congestion and packet loss. Designed as a plug-in-and-go technology, PORTrockIT can be implemented quickly, with minimal impact on existing IT infrastructure โ€“ keeping deployment cost and risk to a minimum.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Healthcare. Part 5 of 7

#artificialintelligence

This session took place in February 2016. Data mining, machine learning and artificial intelligence are becoming the most talk-about topics in digital health. With vast volumes of medical data available, exploiting these techniques to derive valuable insights may both challenge and reshape certain elements of our healthcare system. These new approaches are leading to redefining drug discovery, assisting and automating diagnoses and helping predict and prevent diseases using health record data โ€“ or even our digital footprint. But there remains much hype, confusion and misunderstanding in the field.

Inside the making of Taco Bell's artificially intelligent TacoBot

#artificialintelligence

Welcome to 2016, where you can buy flowers, book a flight and order an Uber through messaging apps like Facebook Messenger and Slack. Last week, Taco Bell and its agency, Deutsch, unveiled the TacoBot, a Siri-like version of the cashiers that take your order at its restaurants. Taco Bell built the bot for workplaces that use Slack's messaging platform to communicate internally. Now, instead of someone jotting everyone's orders on a Post-it and hoping the drive-thru attendant gets everything right, they can ask TacoBot to put in the order for them. "I've described TacoBot as your own personal Taco Bell butler," said Andy McCraw, Taco Bell's digital innovation and on-demand product manager.

Deep On the internet Convex Optimization with Gated Games

#artificialintelligence

Abstract: Strategies from convex optimization are widely utilized as setting up blocks for deep finding out algorithms. Nevertheless, the reasons for their empirical good results are unclear, considering the fact that fashionable convolutional networks (convnets), incorporating rectifier models and max-pooling, are neither smooth nor convex. Conventional ensures for that reason do not use. This paper presents the 1st convergence rates for gradient descent on rectifier convnets. The evidence makes use of the particular structure of rectifier networks which is made up in binary energetic/inactive gates applied on top of an underlying linear network.

How close are AI systems to human-level intelligence? The Allen AI challenge.

#artificialintelligence

With respect to artificial intelligence, some people are squarely in the "optimist" camp, believing that we are "nearly there" as far as producing human-level intelligence. Microsoft co-founder's Paul Allen has been somewhat more prudent: While we have learned a great deal about how to build individual AI systems that do seemingly intelligent things, our systems have always remained brittle--their performance boundaries are rigidly set by their internal assumptions and defining algorithms, they cannot generalize, and they frequently give nonsensical answers outside of their specific focus areas. So Allen does not believe that we will see human-level artificial intelligence in this century. But he nevertheless generously created a foundation aiming to develop such human-level intelligence, the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence Science. The Institute is lead by Oren Etzioni who obviously shares some of Allen's "pessimistic" views.

developerWorks helps you join the cognitive era.

You don't need to be an artificial intelligence expert. You can add cognitive capabilities in incremental steps using the IBM Watson services available in our cloud platform, Bluemix . With this collection of APIs, you can create applications that understand and learn from structured or unstructured data and interact more naturally with users. There are 30 APIs available today and more are being added regularly. Check out our newly designed Cognitive Computing hub.

MIT's new AI can already detect 85% of cyber attacks

#artificialintelligence

The world has seen numerous major cyber attacks in the past couple of years, with targets ranging from government agencies to health insurers to entertainment companies and even Panamanian law firms. A group of scientists at MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL) are working to create a line of defense against these threats to privacy and security. They've developed an AI that can detect attacks on networks as they happen, 85 percent of the time. Our biggest ever edition of TNW Conference is fast approaching! AI2, short for Artificial Intelligence Squared, looks at data to detect suspicious activity.

MIT Researchers Develop Artificial Intelligence Chip For Mobile Devices

#artificialintelligence

Despite the advances in artificial intelligence (AI) technology, most mobile devices remain behind in adapting and implementing these changes in their software. Of course, brain-like AI systems require the use of large multi-core graphics processors, which isn't practical for the purposes of mobile devices. Additionally, they require a lot of energy for functioning, which is a big downside for mobile devices that are battery conscious. As such, most software developers for mobile decide instead to process these energy hungry tasks on the cloud instead of on the phone. At the International Solid State Circuits Conference in San Francisco this week, MIT researchers announced that they have made a new chip dubbed "Eyeriss" that could be used to implement neural networks, one of the fundamental tech behind AI technology.

How Is Artificial Intelligence Helping Digital Marketers - Wigzo

You might have not observed this but Artificial Intelligence has already become a huge part of our lives. Tay, an artificially intelligent chat-bot, developed by Microsoft's Technology and Research and Bing teams has an active Twitter account to engage and entertain people through casual conversation. The more you chat with Tay the smarter she gets. And the experience is personalized for you. So you see AI has seamlessly entered our world and we didn't know about it until now!
