Relink, a recruitment technology startup based in Copenhagen, has launched the beta version of the Goodwin API, the API powering the Goodwin recruitment data service. Currently in beta, Goodwin is a free service provided by Relink that recruiters can use to search for and obtain hiring information and insights for specialized job roles. Goodwin provides job role data such as most important skills, previous positions, educational background, time spent in the position, and next position. Relink is a startup that is building and providing a recruitment technology platform for HR and recruitment software vendors. The Relink platform uses machine learning and recommendation algorithms to analyze job descriptions and profile data in order to provide recruiters a fast and intelligent recruitment experience.


Addressing Environmental Challenges with Big Data and Artificial Intelligence

Soon scientists and the public will have the chance to easily test hypotheses about America's ecological challenges with the help of an ensemble of technologies, including artificial intelligence. Researchers at Georgia Institute of Technology will link their technology for systems thinking with IBM Watson and the Encyclopedia of Life at the Smithsonian. Scientists will then be able to use the information to create their own models about the environment and efficiently test them. The project is one of 10 "Big Data Spokes" announced by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The NSF's 10 million initiative was created to improve the ability to solve the nation's most pressing challenges with the use of big data.

Yahoo open sources its deep learning AI that detects pornography

Yahoo just announced the latest of its open-source releases, it's computer version code that detects pornography in images. The system detects whether a specific image contains pornography or not by using a special type of artificial intelligence called deep learning. It comprises educating artificial neural networks on lots of data (like porn images) and getting them to make a judgment about new data. Yahoo expects its neural network will authorize others to guard others against pornography, at the same time admitting its neural network isn't perfect because of the technology's very nature. "This model is a general purpose reference model, which can be used for the preliminary filtering of pornographic images," says a post on the Yahoo Engineering Tumblr.


World's First MotoBot Wows at Robotics Convention

A few seconds later, it dances to "Thriller," takes a tumble, but gets back on its feet and belts out a song. It's a social robot, one that will even read you your email, and make cute conversation if you want it to. Nearby, the world's first MotoBot, or motorcycle robot, perched on a Yamaha YZF-R1M, does a great job of making regular motorcyclists seem pretty insignificant. Even as it sits still.


Microsoft Creates Artificial Intelligence Research Group Sci-Tech Today

The move comes as Qi Lu, a longtime Microsoft engineering leader who was most recently executive vice president of the Applications and Services Group that includes Bing and Office, leaves the company to focus on his recovery from a bicycle accident. Lu, a former Yahoo engineer with dozens of patents to his name, is widely respected within the technology industry, but a rare public speaker outside of it. Satya Nadella, Microsoft's chief executive, worked for Lu when Nadella led engineering work on the Bing search engine. "Qi exemplifies what it means to have a deep sense of mission, purpose and authenticity in everything one does," Nadella said in an email to employees on Thursday. "His greatest impact is the people he has inspired. I count myself among them."


Xiaomi launches Mi Tv 3S; the first TV with 'Artificial Intelligence'

Xiaomi on Tuesday announced the launch of its second line of smart TVs- The Mi TV 3S, available in 55 inches and 65 inch and sporting 4K displays. This is the Chinese tech giant's second outing in the smart television market. Earlier in March, Xiaomi had launched the 43-inch FHD TV and the 65-inch curved Mi TV 3S. NNow, bothe the Mi TV 3S variants launched on Tuesday have 4K resolutions and support HDR. In China, they are priced at RMB 3,500( 525) and RMB 5,000( 750), respectively.
