The Artificial Intelligence track at Future Decoded 2016
If you have been to or watched any event this year from Microsoft such as Build, Ignite or TechDays Online, you'll know that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is core to Microsoft's overall vision for how we'll help every person and organisation on the planet achieve more. Microsoft's vision include is about three bold ambitions: AI is central all of these ambitions and technologies like Azure Machine Learning, Cortana Analytics, Cognitive Services and the Microsoft Bot Framework here today and ready for you to start building AI into your applications. Future Decoded is Microsoft's annual UK event which brings together business and technical people from across the UK to learn about the latest in Microsoft technology and the partner ecosystem that surrounds it. The two days will be split into a business focus on the first day and a technical focus on the second day. The afternoon of Technical Day will be split into several tracks focusing on specific technologies, one of those tracks is the Artifical Intelligence track.
Artificial intelligence disrupting the business of law
Its traditional aversion to risk has meant the legal profession has not been in the vanguard of new technology. But it is seen as ripe for disruption -- a view that is based not least on pressure from tech-savvy corporate clients questioning the size of their legal bills and wanting to reduce risk. As more law firms become familiar with terms such as machine learning and data mining, they are creating tech-focused jobs like "head of research and development" or hiring coders or artificial intelligence (AI) experts. Change is being driven not only by demand from clients but also by competition from accounting firms, which have begun to offer legal services and to use technology to do routine work. "Lawtech" start-ups, often set up by ex-lawyers and so-called because they use technology to streamline or automate routine aspects of legal work, are a threat too.
A.I - From solving Google's '100 Hat riddle' to World domination
On Google's well documented purchase of British Artificial Intelligence start-up DeepMind, it's founder, Demis Hassabis, unveiled his two step plan for the company- And this is the very plan many Machine Learning, and A.I. experts around the world are working to. And how do we replicate it. Version 3.0's latest guest, Jakob Foerster, found himself sat in a room listening to Demis talk, whilst working for Google. He realised that his previous area of study, Physics, seemed to have a lot of the'big questions' answered. A.I and Machine Learning had so many new and exciting discoveries to be made.
Samsung acquires Viv, AI startup founded by Siri creators
Samsung is all out to join the artificial intelligence (AI) race as the South Korean giant has agreed to acquire Viv Labs, the startup behind Viv an AI assistant system which is "radically simplifying the world by providing an intelligent interface to everything." Interestingly, Viv was co-founded by Dag Kittlaus, Adam Cheyer and Chris Brigham, the creators of Apple's Siri. The trio founded Viv in 2012, which is an intelligent assistant and an open platform wherein any developer can add more knowledge and capabilities to it. Viv was unveiled at Disrupt NY tech conference in New York back in May. The news about Samsung acquiring Viv Labs was confirmed by TechCrunch, and also through a blog post by Kittlaus.
Samsung Closes AI Loop With ViV Labs Acquisition
Samsung in its pursuit to detach itself from over reliant on Google, has now acquired Viv Labs and intelligent interface company that was also the brain behind Apples Sire. Viv has developed a unique, open artificial intelligence platform that allows third-party developers to use and build conversational assistants and integrate a natural language-based interface into applications and services. With the acquisition, Samsung is able to close the loop with its award winning hardware and couple with now an interface that has been missing in its smartphones. It can now be able to unlock and offer new service experiences for its customers, including simpler interaction. The rise of AI will lead consumers to interact with technology that is conversational, personalized and contextual.
Gaining a competitive edge with Artificial Intelligence
For lawyers, that will mean creating legal algorithms to automate at least the routine parts of their practices. Starting perhaps with those tasks that are frequently undertaken and are less legally complex. Over time, the complexity will increase as intelligent software becomes more capable. Either way, what we are seeing is the intersection between technologies capable of creating legal algorithms and an Internet capable of distributing services on-line. In the same way that consumers today demand device driven Apps to consume goods, in time professional services will be demanded similarly by businesses. Clients will likely be the driving force for change within law firms.
Google's Artificial Intelligence after "Mobile First" now Smartphone as a platform - eUKhost Official Web Hosting Forum
Google has intelligent plans to develop smartphone as a platform. In future there will be only device for several means, with artificial intelligence to communicate. After "Mobile first" we are at the transition to the era of artificial intelligence, says the CEO. Google has developed its artificial intelligence in recent years and now it s ready to be unleashed on the people. According to the plan Google's assistant is to become a universal service provider that can handle a variety of tasks for its users.
Artificial Intelligence Finally Gets Governance, Former Healthcare CFO
The American Institute of Artificial Intelligence is announcing the launch of the world's first and most comprehensive Artificial Intelligence Governance Model and product. Built by performing comprehensive literature reviews and analysis from several fields (Political Science, Sociology. Economics, Philosophy, Computer Science, Ethics, Theology, Law, Communications, Business, Finance, Neuroscience, and many others), the AI Governance Model is designed to address thousands of data points through multi-dimensional analysis. To address public concerns, improve safety of humans, create transparency, and achieve social good and regulatory compliance, the model can be used by different types of entities including small, medium and large companies, government agencies, institutions and others. "Recent research indicates that more than half of UK adults are worried about robots. Our top intellectuals and leaders have warned us that artificial intelligence can pose a serious threat to humankind. Even the White House is concerned and has organized various conferences on the topic. At the American Institute of Artificial Intelligence, we believe that the best way to advance artificial intelligence is to do it responsibly. The AI revolution is by far the greatest change in the history of human civilization and should be approached with the same respect and consideration as we approach nuclear technology and climate change." said Al Naqvi, president of the American Institute of Artificial Intelligence.
What is The Artificial Intelligence (AI) We're Living With
Artificial intelligence has always been a hot topic. The problem of creating a machine that can think, make its own decisions and at the same time lacks human limitations, has always aroused controversies. Because what is the artificial intelligence, what do we know about it? Is it going to be human's best friend or maybe the worst enemy? We all remember what the infamous Skynet has done to our planet in Terminator series, right? We can also recall this nasty feeling of a cold shiver running down our spines when Neo has woken up from the Matrix.
