SYDNEY - Google plans to build a large artificial intelligence data center on Australia's remote Indian Ocean outpost of Christmas Island after signing a cloud deal with the Department of Defence earlier this year, according to documents and interviews with officials. Plans for the data center on the tiny island located 350 kilometers south of Indonesia have not previously been reported, and many details including its projected size, cost and potential uses, remain secret. However, military experts say such a facility would be a valuable asset on the island, which is increasingly seen by defense officials as a critical front line in monitoring Chinese submarine and other naval activity in the Indian Ocean. In a time of both misinformation and too much information, quality journalism is more crucial than ever.

Classical machine learning classifiers tend to be overconfident can be unreliable outside of the laboratory benchmarks. Properly assessing the reliability of the output of the model per sample is instrumental for real-life scenarios where these systems are deployed. Because of this, different techniques have been employed to properly quantify the quality of prediction for a given model. These are most commonly Bayesian statistics and, more recently, conformal learning. Given a calibration set, conformal learning can produce outputs that are guaranteed to cover the target class with a desired significance level, and are more reliable than the standard confidence intervals used by Bayesian methods. In this work, we propose to use conformal learning with fuzzy rule-based systems in classification and show some metrics of their performance. Then, we discuss how the use of type 2 fuzzy sets can improve the quality of the output of the system compared to both fuzzy and crisp rules. Finally, we also discuss how the fine-tuning of the system can be adapted to improve the quality of the conformal prediction.

Smart contracts operate in a highly adversarial environment, where vulnerabilities can lead to substantial financial losses. Thus, smart contracts are subject to security audits. In auditing, proof-of-concept (PoC) exploits play a critical role by demonstrating to the stakeholders that the reported vulnerabilities are genuine, reproducible, and actionable. However, manually creating PoCs is time-consuming, error-prone, and often constrained by tight audit schedules. We introduce POCO, an agentic framework that automatically generates executable PoC exploits from natural-language vulnerability descriptions written by auditors. POCO autonomously generates PoC exploits in an agentic manner by interacting with a set of code-execution tools in a Reason-Act-Observe loop. It produces fully executable exploits compatible with the Foundry testing framework, ready for integration into audit reports and other security tools. We evaluate POCO on a dataset of 23 real-world vulnerability reports. POCO consistently outperforms the prompting and workflow baselines, generating well-formed and logically correct PoCs. Our results demonstrate that agentic frameworks can significantly reduce the effort required for high-quality PoCs in smart contract audits. Our contribution provides readily actionable knowledge for the smart contract security community.
