Research: Enterprises and consumers want to increase AI adoption

#artificialintelligence

New research from Juniper Networks has found a growing appetite from both enterprises and consumers to use AI technologies. Juniper surveyed 700 global IT decision-makers for its research and found that most (67%) executives have AI as a top strategic priority for 2021. However, integrating AI remains a challenge. "As a CIO, when I see so much interest in an emerging technology, I always need to remind people there are pitfalls if it's not managed correctly. For artificial intelligence, there is no doubt that there is light at the end of the challenge-filled tunnel, and significant potential to generate even more meaningful and incredible outcomes than we've seen so far."

How to approach conversation design with Amazon Lex: Building and testing (Part 3)

#artificialintelligence

In parts one and two of our guide to conversation design with Amazon Lex, we discussed how to gather requirements for your conversational AI application and draft conversational flows. In this post, we help you bring all the pieces together. You'll learn how draft an interaction model to deliver natural conversational experiences, and how to test and tune your application. In the second post of this series, you identified some use cases that you wanted to automate and wrote sample interactions between a user and your application. In this post, we use these use cases to build an Amazon Lex framework, called an interaction model, but first, let's review some important definitions.

Google's second-gen Nest Hub drops to $60 in New Year's sale

Engadget

Most of Google's Nest devices went on sale for the holiday shopping season and, while those deep discounts have come and gone, we're already seeing new sales pop up across the web. Both Best Buy and Adorama have the second-generation Google Nest Hub for $60, which is $40 off its normal price and only $10 more than it was on Black Friday. The Nest Hub Max is also on sale for $190, while the Nest Audio and Nest Mini are down to $75 and $25, respectively. Our favorites of the bunch for most people are the Nest Hub and the Nest Audio. The former is Google's most recent smart display and it earned a score of 89 from us.

The Future of Automation in Retail Stores

#artificialintelligence

As social distancing is new normal, grocery stores are adapting technology to prevent overcrowding in a place. Deep learning, computer vision, and specialized sensors could help develop a humanless convenience store. It works together to not only automate the checkout counter but also the whole in-store experience. Even by 2023, e-commerce is forecasted to account for only 21 percent of total retail sales and just 5 percent of grocery sales. Therefore, the physical stores are here to stay accounting for the rest of the retail sales. Moreover, it also implies that the future of retail belongs to enterprises that can offer a true omnichannel experience.

Machine Learning for Time-Series with Python: Forecast, predict, and detect anomalies with state-of-the-art machine learning methods: Ben Auffarth: 9781801819626: Amazon.com: Books

#artificialintelligence

Become proficient in deriving insights from time-series data and analyzing a model's performance Machine learning has emerged as a powerful tool to understand hidden complexities in time-series datasets, which frequently need to be analyzed in areas as diverse as healthcare, economics, digital marketing, and social sciences. These datasets are essential for forecasting and predicting outcomes or for detecting anomalies to support informed decision making. This book covers Python basics for time-series and builds your understanding of traditional autoregressive models as well as modern non-parametric models. You will become confident with loading time-series datasets from any source, deep learning models like recurrent neural networks and causal convolutional network models, and gradient boosting with feature engineering. Machine Learning for Time-Series with Python explains the theory behind several useful models and guides you in matching the right model to the right problem.
