Rami Malek on His Emmy Win: ''Times Are Changing''

#artificialintelligence

"You hear people say that it is an out-of-body experience and there's no way to prepare for it, but I seriously sat there and thought, 'Was it my name?' Like, 'Please, Rami, don't stand up if you don't think you really heard your name,'" the actor exclusively told E! News' Catt Sadler after the show. "Then I got out of my chair and walked onstage. I was like, 'This might actually be happening.' Malek added that he was "humbled" to be in the company of such "phenomenal, magnificent" actors. Mr. Robot has taken Malek by surprise on a number of occasions, beginning when he was cast in the hit television series. I was like, 'Come on, guys! They're never going to put me in the role of the young lead,'" he recalled.

The first pop song ever written by artificial intelligence is pretty good, actually

We already know that artificial intelligence systems can work in law firms and beat the world champion at a game of Go. Now it turns out that AI can write some pretty good pop songs, too.

We already know that artificial intelligence systems can work in law firms and beat the world champion at a game of Go. Now it turns out that AI can write some pretty good pop songs, too. Researchers at Sony have been working on AI-generated music for years, and has previously used AI to create impressive jazz tracks. But this is the first time the Sony CSL Research Laboratory has released pop music composed by AI, and the results are impressive. The first song, "Daddy's Car," is a catchy, sunny tune reminiscent of The Beatles.

What seemed before like science fiction is now a rapidly growing and evolving technology. Artificial intelligence transforms the way the world works. Now, AI is a powerful problem-solving tool in numerous functions of society. Previously tedious steps industrial production is automated by robots that can anticipate changes in the system. In businesses, bulk amounts of fed data are easily manipulated and responses are faster and more reliable.

Building Predictive Models for Customer Churn in Telecom using Machine Learning: A Real Project

#artificialintelligence

Customer attrition, also known as customer churn, customer turnover, or customer defection, is the loss of clients or customers. Banks, telephone service companies, Internet service providers, pay TV companies, insurance firms, and alarm monitoring services, often use customer attrition analysis and customer attrition rates as one of their key business metrics (along with cash flow, EBITDA, etc.) because the cost of retaining an existing customer is far less than acquiring a new one. Companies from these sectors often have customer service branches which attempt to win back defecting clients, because recovered long-term customers can be worth much more to a company than newly recruited clients. Churn prediction is one of the most popular Big Data use cases in business. It consists of detecting customers who are likely to cancel a subscription to a service.

Musicians Obsolete? Sony A.I. Creates Beatles-Inspired Song

#artificialintelligence

If you're a musician, you may want to skip this story. The march of automation, thirsty for more jobs to claim, has taken the songwriter's role with a new artificial intelligence from Sony CSL research laboratory. The FlowMachines software scanned 13,000 pieces of sheet music from a variety of styles, allowing a human composer to pick a style and have the software generate both melody and harmony. Audio recordings were matched to the melodies, before the resulting song was polished up by humans. The first song, "Daddy's Car," is surprisingly good (sorry musicians).

Absolutdata Launches Powerful Artificial Intelligence (AI) Based Tool that Makes Sales Teams More Effective

#artificialintelligence

Sales professionals make critical decisions every day, deciding which prospects to reach out to, what product and service offerings to highlight, and which communication channels will work best. Many salespeople make these decisions based on intuition or follow an organizational playbook. NAVIK SalesAI offers a better alternative by making the buyer central to the process, and applying artificial intelligence to the data. It provides weekly guidance identifying the most promising contacts, specifying which products or services each contact is likely to purchase next and suggesting the most effective communication channel to use. Product recommendations outline the likely reasons motivating a purchase, giving the sales person talking points that resonate with their prospect.

Approximately 8 of the 319 million people in the United States read the Wall Street Journal, about 2 percent of the population. If you look at the language -- standardized English -- being fed into many natural language processing units, it's based on the language of that 2 percent. And many machines literally use the venerable, business-focused newspaper to better understand the English language. It might seem like an obvious choice. Standardized English is taught in schools, it's used in legal documents, and it sets the basis for formal society.

Artificial Intelligence Tries Its Hand At Writing A Beatles Song

#artificialintelligence

The Beatles may have disbanded decades ago, but thanks to artificial intelligence, the group is being reanimated -- sort of. Researchers at Sony are at work on an algorithm capable of generating new songs based on iconic musical styles, and their first crack at putting it in action starts with the iconic rock band. The song is called "Daddy's Car," which bears an eerie resemblance to the many songs that John, Paul, George, and Ringo used to play. It was made using a system called FlowMachines developed by the team at Sony CSL Research Laboratory, and was trained on a huge database of 13,000 songs. Once it understands a desired style, it can, with the help of a producer/arranger, churn out new songs in a variety of musical styles.
