Uber Eats has unveiled its newest drones which will be used to deliver food in San Diego, California, next year. The new drones feature'innovative rotating wings with six rotors' - a design that has previously only been featured in flying car prototypes. Uber Eats said it believes the rotating wings will help to avoid food spillages, as the design enables a smoother transition between vertical takeoff and forward flight. NASA veteran Mark Moore designed similar rotors for the company's flying-taxi prototype which is also part of the companies Uber Elevate project - to take its services to the sky.

A new robotic tank that can be equipped with armour-piercing ammunition and on-board surveillance drones has been built for the US Army. Intended to serve as a'wingman' for manned tanks and other armoured vehicles, the so-called'Ripsaw M5' is adaptable for support, combat and surveillance. The M5 is the latest remote controlled successor of the US Army's manned Ripsaw MS2 tank, which had a 600 horsepower engine and max speed of 60 miles per hour. The M5 can carry a so-called'Skyraider' quadcopter, centre right-- which has a maximum air speed of 31 miles per hour (50 kph), can carry payloads of 4.4 pounds (2 kg) and remain airborne for as long as 50 minutes -- and has an optical and infrared camera turret, centre left The Ripsaw M5 is a heavily-armoured'Robotic Combat Vehicle'. The powerful space telescope, operated by NASA, the European Space Agency and Space Telescope Science Institute, took the remarkable image of the Arp-Madore 2026-424 (AM 2026-424) system, 704 million light-years from Earth, on June 19. This new image from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope captures two galaxies of equal size in a collision that appears to resemble a ghostly face.

During the IGC led by top leaders, the two sides will also discuss the deepening of cooperation in traditional sectors such as transport, skill development and energy. Dr. Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, will be accompanied by several Ministers and State Secretaries of the Federal Government, as well as a high-powered business delegation. Under the IGC format, the counterpart Ministers from both countries will hold initial discussions in their respective areas of responsibility. The outcome of these discussions will be reported on at the IGC Co-Chaired by the Prime Minister and the Federal Chancellor of Germany.
Second Indian toddler in four months dies after becoming stuck in disused well
NEW DELHI – The body of a 2-year-old boy trapped 26-meters (85-feet) down a well in southern India for more than three days was recovered on Tuesday, authorities said. Sujith Wilson was the second toddler in four months to grab nationwide attention after falling into the 30-centimeter (one-foot) diameter pipe while playing near his home in Tiruchirappalli district of Tamil Nadu state on Friday. "The body was retrieved using special equipment and he was in a decomposed state," district official S. Sivarasu told journalists. He added that a post-mortem examination would be carried out to determine the cause of death. A thermal camera had been used to monitor the child's temperature while oxygen was supplied through a pipe.

Xu Bing, the 29-year-old co-founder, knew SenseTime was at risk given rising tensions between China and the U.S., but the timing took him by surprise. He was spending a few days showing off his latest products and meeting other AI researchers earlier this month when the Commerce Department put his company and seven others on its "Entity List," prohibiting American companies from providing crucial supplies like semiconductors. His phone flooded with calls and emails from worried employees and investors. SenseTime is emblematic of the clash between the world's two biggest economies.

While it is difficult for people to agree on a vision of utopia, it is relatively easy to agree on what a "better world" might look like. The United Nations "Sustainable Development Goals," for example, are an important set of agreed-upon global priorities in the near-term: These objectives (alleviation of poverty, food for all, etc.) are important to keep society from crumbling and to keep large swaths of humanity in misery, and they serve as common reference points for combined governmental or nonprofit initiatives. However, they don't help inform humanity as to which future scenarios we want to move closer or farther to as the human condition is radically altered by technology. As artificial intelligence and neurotechnologies become more and more a part of our lives in the coming two decades, humanity will need a shared set of goals about what kinds of intelligence we develop and unleash in the world, and I suspect that failure to do so will lead to massive conflict. Given these hypotheses, I've argued that there are only two major questions that humanity must ultimately be concerned with: In the rest of this article, I'll argue that current united human efforts at prioritization are important, but incomplete in preventing conflict and maximizing the likelihood of a beneficial long-term (40 year) outcome for humanity.
