Intelligent, Integrated Cybersecurity - CyberCrime, CyberTerror & Cyb…

#artificialintelligence

The talk explores the current status of Cybersecurity threats & defence and then develops Scenarios for its future evolution. This focuses upon the role of Artificial Intelligence, Stochastic Machine Learning & Deep Learning and provide much faster & accurate real-time "Speed of Light" responses against Cyber Attacks! We discuss the evolution of the Internet during the last 50 years since its birth, and then explore possible cyber trends for the next 25 to 30 years based upon technological & social evolution. Topics include Network Intelligence, Self-Learning, Self-Adaptive Security & then finally "Neural Security" for 2040 onwards! The presentation provides several examples of recent cyber attacks as well as some of the "Best of Breed" Cyber AI solutions that are already available from Cybersecurity vendors!

How AI and Machine Learning Can Simplify ID Recognition & Classification

#artificialintelligence

With identity theft and account takeover on the rise, it's increasingly difficult for businesses to trust that someone is who they claim to be online. Join this exclusive interactive 1-2-1 interview where Robert Prigge, President, Jumio will share the latest identity verification and authentication trends and how you can leverage the power of biometrics, AI and the latest technologies to quickly verify the digital identities of new customers and existing users. Some questions to be tackled; What types of cybersecurity threats are on the rise? Is account takeover becoming a real threat in the financial services space? How will eKYC evolve over the next few years?

How to Integrate Driver Safety into Your Culture to Enhance Retention - w3buzz

#artificialintelligence

Driver turnover has been above 90 percent for more than nine consecutive quarters and shows little sign of slowing down. What's more, is that issues related to management and workplace policies and communication have caused 30 percent of drivers to leave their job. Keeping your drivers safe, recognizing them for doing the right thing, and offering a solid feedback loop is key to increasing driver engagement -- and retention. If the people who drive your products from one place to another do not feel like you have taken extra measures to keep them safe, then they will leave for jobs that do. Where does this leave you?

These Black Women Are Fighting For Justice In A World Of Biased Algorithms

#artificialintelligence

They help us check out at the grocery store, target us with timely ads on Instagram for a new pair of shoes, turn off our lights at a simple voice command and even determine the songs we're most apt to enjoy on our favorite music streaming platforms. Though technology has given us more convenience, connection and access than ever before, the algorithms hidden beneath its seemingly harmless code, the algorithms shaping our lives, are also grossly discriminating against our community--and all too often with impunity. If you think this doesn't affect you, think again. For us, unchecked technology shows up as police departments disproportionately deploying facial recognition software within marginalized communities to target criminal behavior, or Black people being tagged as gorillas in Google image searches, or Facebook approving housing ads that are filtered to prevent them being marketed to minorities. These practices are what Princeton University associate professor Ruha Benjamin, Ph.D., refers to as "the New Jim Code."

5 Ways Artificial Intelligence Is Transforming Digital Pathology -

#artificialintelligence

AI could help health professionals cope with the gigantic quantities of data – Discover why healthcare facilities increasingly realize that AI could help achieve significant impacts with digital pathology. Thanks to approvals from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for applications such as primary disease diagnosis, digital pathology is rapidly becoming the new standard of care. However, this advancement creates challenges that artificial intelligence could help solve. Digital pathology enables capturing pathology information, such as whole slide images (WSI), and working with it digitally using a specialized scanner. Acquiring, studying and managing data in this way allows sharing between parties on a computer or mobile device.

NHS staff fear 'big tech' firms analysing patient data

#artificialintelligence

A YouGov poll of 1,027 healthcare professionals, commissioned by Sensyne Health, found that 81% support analysing patient data to enable quicker diagnosis and more effective treatments while 71% believe this analysis can help solve some of the greatest healthcare challenges in the UK, such as cardiovascular disease. However, just 12% of NHS staff and private healthcare workers said they would be comfortable with a multinational'big tech' company which pays little tax in the UK carrying the analysis out. Only 17% said they would trust multinational'big tech' companies to handle the data in a confidential manner. In comparison, 80% believe the UK should have a domestic capability in Artificial Intelligence and health data analysis so it doesn't need to be outsourced to other countries or multinational companies. More than eight in 10 (85%) say the NHS should receive a fair share of any financial gains made from subsequent medical discoveries, with 87% explicitly calling on the Government to step in and ensure that both the NHS and UK taxpayers benefit from discoveries and gains resulting from any analysis. The findings also highlight the significant benefits that anonymised analysis and data-driven technology can bring – from reducing workloads for doctors and nurses, to helping patients better manage their conditions.

Roundup If you can't get enough of machine learning news then here's a roundup of extra tidbits to keep your addiction ticking away. Read on to learn more about how DeepMind is helping Google's Play Store, and a new virtual environment to train agents safely from OpenAI. An AI recommendation system for the Google Play Store: Deepmind are helping Android users find new apps in the Google Play Store with the help of machine learning. "We started collaborating with the Play store to help develop and improve systems that determine the relevance of an app with respect to the user," the London-based lab said this week. Engineers built a model known as a candidate generator.

EU Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain investment fund to invest 100 million euros in startups in 2020 - Digital Single Market - European Commission

#artificialintelligence

The new Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain Investment Fund was launched earlier this year and will finance the development of highly innovative artificial intelligence and blockchain companies as part of a wider move to create a dynamic EU-wide innovation ecosystem. Run by the European Investment Fund, the first phase of the AI and blockchain fund will make available €100 million in 2020 to support companies working in this sector. More information about how to apply for funding will be available soon, and companies attending the Slush event can learn more about the fund at the European Commission's workshop. Europe is home to a world-leading AI and blockchain research community, with vibrant start-ups and a wide range of traditional industries looking to adopt innovative processes and models based on these technologies. Investment levels in Europe have traditionally lagged those in the US and Asia, however, and the aim of the fund is to narrow this investment gap and support the development of innovation in this field.

In the battle against deepfakes, AI is being pitted against AI

#artificialintelligence

Lying has never looked so good, literally. Concern over increasingly sophisticated technology able to create convincingly faked videos and audio, so-called'deepfakes', is rising around the world. But at the same time they're being developed, technologists are also fighting back against the falsehoods. "The concern is that there will be a growing movement globally to undermine the quality of the information sphere and undermine the quality of discourse necessary in a democracy," Eileen Donahoe, a member of the Transatlantic Commission on Election Integrity, told CNBC in December 2018. She said deepfakes are potentially the next generation of disinformation.
