Safe at School, Thanks to Tech - Connected World

#artificialintelligence

In today's connected world, factories are smart, cars are smart, buildings are smart, and homes are smart. School campuses should be smart too. The number of gun-violence incidents in the United States is much too high, and while politicians and special interest groups argue about how exactly to curb this violence, technology could help keep campuses safer. The latest IoT (Internet of Things) technologies could streamline campus and school operations to help them run as efficiently as possible. According to MarketsandMarkets, the global IoT in education market is expected to grow from $4.8 billion in 2018 to $11.3 billion by 2023.

15 Best Machine Learning Course in 2019

#artificialintelligence

Below is the 15 best machine learning course to accelerate your ML journey this year. The holy grail of machine learning online course, Machine Learning by Stanford is considered as the best machine learning course by many. This course is prepared and maintained by Andrew Ng, pioneer machine learning scientist who've led ML research projects for both Google and Chinese giant Baidu. Although the course requires a paid subscription, you can ask for financial aid if you're a student. This online machine learning course from DataCamp is the best machine learning course with a primary emphasis on statistics โ€“ the de facto requirement for effective data science projects.

#artificialintelligence

Welcome to the Complete Data Science and Machine Learning Bootcamp, the only course you need to learn Python and get into data science. At over 35 hours, this Python course is without a doubt the most comprehensive data science and machine learning course available online. Even if you have zero programming experience, this course will take you from beginner to mastery. The course is a taught by the lead instructor at the App Brewery, London's leading in-person programming bootcamp. In the course, you'll be learning the latest tools and technologies that are used by data scientists at Google, Amazon, or Netflix.

Alexa can soon control your Wi-Fi and brief you on your kid's homework

#artificialintelligence

Amazon rolled out more than a dozen new devices today in its annual hardware event atop a biodome at company headquarters in Seattle, including eyeglasses and a ring that speak with Alexa, several new speakers, and lots of new devices for the home. Sprinkled in between hardware announcements were a bunch of new ways Alexa is getting smarter. In all, like last year, nearly a dozen new features were introduced today. Here are some of the standouts. One unique offering introduced today is the Education Skills API, a way for skills developers and school districts to connect with popular edtech services like Canvas, Kickboard, and Coursera.

Using Neural Networks to Design Neural Networks: The Definitive Guide to Understand Neural Architecture Search

#artificialintelligence

Designing deep learning systems is hard and highly subjective. Any midsize neural network could contain millions of nodes and hundreds of hidden layers. Given a specific deep learning problem, there is a large number of possible neural network architectures that can serve as a solution. Typically, we need to rely on the expertise or subjective preferences of data scientists to settle on a specific approach but that seems highly unpractical. Recently, neural architecture search(NAS) has emerged as an alternative solution to this problem by making the design of deep learning systems a machine learning problem by itself.

High Performance Leadership Management Certificate (CPD) - Atton Institute

#artificialintelligence

The effectiveness of company management reflects the quality of the management processes and is expressed through the actions of management. Accordingly, if the company's managers have poor management performance indicators, they have to undergo leadership training to improve their skills and improve the efficiency of their company as a whole. In addition, for the successful management of the company, its leaders should understand the features of the markets in which the company is operating or is going to operate. Remember that no one was born a good leader. Good leadership skills are the result of training and practice.

In this tutorial, you will learn the basics and advance machine learning topics like Linear Regression, Classifiers, create, train and evaluate a neural network like CNN, RNN, autoencoders, etc.

5 positions 1 suspicion on AI and education

#artificialintelligence

Prologue: This is not an introduction to AI or AI in education. You can find these here and here, respectively. Rather, this is a constellation of positions on AI from an educator's perspective. I pull together disparate aspects of current debates about AI and education in order to articulate some directions for the field. Lately I've been sitting in rooms with a lot of thoughtful people from industry, different disciplines in academia, and policy backgrounds to think through artificial intelligence (AI) and education.

IT Ministry along with Google to 'Build for Digital India'

#artificialintelligence

On Saturday, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) entered into a collaboration with Google to launch "Build for Digital India," a programme that will provide learners in engineering with a platform for market-ready development technology-based solutions that address key social problems. The programme will invite ideas from students to focus on areas of healthcare, agriculture, education, smart cities and infrastructure, women safety, smart mobility and transportation, environment, accessibility and disability and digital literacy. As part of the programme, engineering students across the country will be invited to apply and join in a learning journey that will help them transform their bright ideas into real-world solutions. Applicants will take part in online and offline learning opportunities on key technologies such as Machine Learning, Cloud and Android. These will be offered through Google's Developer Student Club network and other Google Developer networks.

The Math of Machine Learning - Berkeley University Textbook

#artificialintelligence

This document is an attempt to provide a summary of the mathematical background needed for an introductory class in machine learning, which at UC Berkeley is known as CS 189/289A. Our assumption is that the reader is already familiar with the basic concepts of multivariable calculus and linear algebra (at the level of UCB Math 53/54). We emphasize that this document is not a replacement for the prerequisite classes. Most subjects presented here are covered rather minimally; we intend to give an overview and point the interested reader to more comprehensive treatments for further details. Note that this document concerns math background for machine learning, not machine learning itself.
