Google Ups its AI Game

#artificialintelligence

Google Cloud is rolling out an "AI Hub" supplying machine learning content ranging from data pipelines and TensorFlow modules. It also announced a new pipeline component for the Google-backed Kubeflow open-source project, the machine learning stack built on Kubernetes that among other things packages machine learning code for reuse. The AI marketplace and the Kubeflow pipeline are intended to accelerate development and deployment of AI applications, Google said Thursday (Nov. The new services follow related AI efforts such as expanding access to updated Tensor processing units (TPUs) on the Google Cloud. The AI Hub is described as a community for accessing "plug-and-play" machine learning content.

Artificial Intelligence Course - AI and ML Training and Certification

#artificialintelligence

Description: In this project, you will learn how to build a convolutional neural network using Google TensorFlow. You will do the visualization of images using training, providing input images, losses, and distributions of activations and gradients. You will learn to break each image into manageable tiles and input them to the convolutional neural network for the desired result. Description: In this project, by understanding the customer needs, you will be able to offer the right services through Artificial Intelligence chatbots. You will learn how to create the right artificial neural network with the right amount of layers to ensure that the customer queries are comprehensible to the Artificial Intelligence chatbot.

IIT Roorkee to offer Artificial Intelligence, Data Science courses on Coursera - Times of India

#artificialintelligence

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has partnered with Coursera, to launch new certificate programs in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), and the other one in Data Science. IIT Roorkee will launch both these programs on Coursera in early 2021. The six-month certificate program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning will consist of video lectures, hands-on learning opportunities, team projects, tutorials, and workshops. In addition to providing the coding knowledge and mathematics necessary for building AI and ML expertise, the program will also teach classical ML techniques and provide hands-on programming experience with Tensorflow for model building, robust ML production, and powerful experimentation. The certificate program in Data Science claims to equip professionals looking to build skills in data science, machine learning, critical thinking, data collection, data visualization, and data management. The program will help develop Python and SQL programming skills necessary for a career in data analytics.

AI Helping to Transform Education in Pandemic Era - AI Trends

#artificialintelligence

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on education has been profound, with new ways of thinking about how best to teach students reverberating in institutions of higher learning, K-12 classrooms and in the business community. The role of AI is central to the discussion on every level. For the K-12 classroom, teachers are thinking about how to use AI as a teaching tool. For example, Deb Norton of the Oshkosh Area school district in Wisconsin, was asked several years ago by the International Society for Technology in Education to lead a course on the uses of AI in K-12 classrooms, according to a recent account in Education Week. The course includes sections on the definition of artificial intelligence, machine learning, voice recognition, chatbots and the role of data in AI systems.

Stanford Launches Online Program on AI in Healthcare

#artificialintelligence

The Stanford Center for Health Education has launched an online program on Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare. Designed for technology professionals, computer scientists, and healthcare providers, the program aims to advance the delivery of patient care and improve global health outcomes through artificial intelligence and machine learning. The online program will be taught by faculty from Stanford Medicine. The program's goal is to foster a common understanding of the potential for AI to safely and ethically improve patient care. "Effective use of AI in healthcare requires knowing more than just the algorithms and how they work," says Nigam Shah, associate professor of medicine and biomedical data science, the faculty director of the new program.

Top 10 Books for Machine Learning You Should Read

#artificialintelligence

Now for all those of you who are really good at coding but have a bad background in mathematics, this is the book for you guys to go with. Do not think of hackers as someone related to Cyber-Security but hacker here refers to those who are already good at coding. This book stresses deeply on the math that is required for Machine Learning and uses real-world scenarios and use-cases which can help you get a hang of it. Typical Machine Learning problems with R programming language are the start and move to advanced topics where you will be taught how to build a recommendation system and those sorts of applications. It is the book to study if you are already comfortable with advanced coding.

Non-Stochastic Control with Bandit Feedback

arXiv.org Machine Learning

The crucial component in RL/control that allows learning is the feedback, or reward/penalty, which the agent iteratively observes and reacts to. While some signal is necessary for learning, different applications have different feedback to the learning agent. In many reinforcement learning and control problems it is unrealistic to assume that the learner has feedback for actions other than their own. One example is in game-playing, such as the game of Chess, where a player can observe the adversary's move for their own choice of play, but it is unrealistic to expect knowledge of the adversary's play for any possible move. This type of feedback is commonly known in the learning literature as "bandit feedback". Learning in Markov Decision Processes (MDP) is a general and difficult problem for which there are no known algorithms that have sublinear dependence on the number of states. For this reason we look at structured MDPs, and in particular the model of control in Linear Dynamical Systems (LDS), a highly structured special case that is known to admit more efficient methods as compared to general RL. In this paper we study learning in linear dynamical systems with bandit feedback.

How To Create An AI (Artificial Intelligence) Startup

#artificialintelligence

According to research from IDC, the global spending on AI (Artificial Intelligence) is expected to hit $97.9 billion by 2023, up from $37.5 billion in 2019. This represents a compound annual growth rate of 28.4%. No doubt, this is an enormous opportunity for startups. "These days, almost every company needs to leverage AI in order to thrive and build a meaningful future," said Saar Yoskovitz, who is the CEO of Augury. "This is true for younger startups, and it is true for the largest companies, even in the most traditional and nascent industries like manufacturing and insurance. In a sense, AI has become another layer in the tech stack, like databases, and not a business model."

Autonomous discovery of battery electrolytes with robotic experimentation and machine learning – Physics World

#artificialintelligence

Join the audience for a live webinar at 6 p.m. BST/1 p.m. EST on 12 August 2020 on the discovery of a novel battery electrolyte that was guided by machine-learning software without human intervention Want to take part in this webinar? Innovations in batteries take years to formulate and commercialize, requiring extensive experimentation during the design and optimization phases. We approached the design and selection of a battery electrolyte through a black-box optimization algorithm directly integrated into a robotic test stand. We report here the discovery of a novel battery electrolyte by this experiment completely guided by the machine-learning software without human intervention. Motivated by the recent trend toward super-concentrated aqueous electrolytes for high-performance batteries, we utilize Dragonfly – a Bayesian machine-learning software package – to search mixtures of commonly used lithium and sodium salts for super-concentrated aqueous electrolytes with wide electrochemical stability windows.
