Machine Learning & Deep Learning in Python & R

#artificialintelligence

In this section we will learn - What does Machine Learning mean. What are the meanings or different terms associated with machine learning? You will see some examples so that you understand what machine learning actually is. It also contains steps involved in building a machine learning model, not just linear models, any machine learning model.

Education 4.0: Adapting to the fourth industrial revolution

#artificialintelligence

From the dawn of industry 250 years ago, formal education has remained essentially static, largely fossilised. In lecture halls around the globe, students still gaze not-so-fondly at the instructor delivering content that they're expected to memorise--and cramming is tested and rewarded. The future of work conversation is inherently a future of education conversation. If the hallmark of 20th-century learning was access to a college education, the third decade of the 21st century requires frameworks that digitally support lifelong learning--and then re-learning. Many of the jobs in the future workforce have not quite been imagined yet.

Curriculum Learning in Deep

#artificialintelligence

Have you ever felt that modifying your deep learning model architecture isn't enough? Well, let me tell you that you are right. The learnings from this article are inspired by an Omdena Challenge on "Using Computer Vision to Detect Ethnicity in News and Videos and Improve Ethnicity Awareness" In our project, one of the collaborators suggested the use of Active Learning. It was the first time for me to hear about this topic, I don't even remember meeting it in any machine learning course that I took, so I just started reading about it online. While searching in this topic I discovered a whole new topic called Curriculum Learning, also never mentioned to me before but this one did pique my interest.

Let us help you unleash your technology to the masses. The recommendation systems (RS) are becoming an integral part of our daily lives. This means that we can obtain what we desire either through internet-accessible applications or on social media channels. Traditional views of the recommendation problem refer to it as a simple classification or prediction problem; however, recently new evidence indicates that it is essentially a sequential problem[1]. It can therefore be formulated as a Markov decision process (MDP) and reinforcement learning (RL) methods can be employed to resolve it [1]. RL algorithms play a crucial role as these algorithms are very advantageous to cope with the dynamic environment and large space [4]. Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL), have enabled RL to be applied to the recommendation problem with massive states and action spaces. RL-based and DRL-based methods in a classified manner based on the specific RL algorithm, like Q-learning, SARSA, and REINFORCE, that is used to optimize the recommendation policy[2].

This course brings the software architecture skills required by an enterprise architect. In the lectures, we go through the engineering requirements and how to deal with gained information. Although the course is not about to show you how to build a web/desktop/mobile app with programming, but you have a great tool to create blueprint of your system. You will learn modern way to create your own design pattern or use common and useful architecture patterns. As it is said in the videos, by creating a blueprint of you system before starting to build it, you can then easily edit/modify/update/upgrade the system even after lot of years.

The Five Biggest Education And Training Technology Trends In 2022

#artificialintelligence

The pace of digital transformation in the education sector has accelerated immeasurably over the past two years. Every stage of education, from primary to higher education as well as professional and workplace training, has undergone a shift towards online and cloud-based delivery platforms. Beyond that, the changing needs of industry and workforces have prompted a dramatic change in the relationship between adult learners and providers of further education, such as colleges and universities. The value of the educational technology (EdTech) sector is forecast to grow to $680 million by 2027. Much of this will be due to mobile technology, cloud services and virtual reality creating new possibilities for accessible, immersive learning.

NFL Using AI "Digital Athlete" for Concussion Research

#artificialintelligence

The National Football League is hoping that artificial intelligence can help reduce concussions in athletes. The NFL "Digital Athlete" is an artificial intelligence tool that uses TV images and sensors embedded in helmets, mouth guards and shoulder pads to try to reduce injuries. The tool creates a digital replica of an NFL athlete in a virtual environment. Using machine learning and computer vision technology, the tool then pinpoints impacts and injuries and helps researchers find new ways to improve player safety. "Having the computers understand how many times a player hits his helmet during the course of a game [helps] find ways to reduce the amount of helmet contact,"," Jeff Miller, NFL executive vice president, told New Scientist. Within the environment generated by the tool, an infinite number of game scenarios can be run, "giving the ability to test out new safety equipment, test out rule changes and predict player injury events and recovery trajectories eventually", says Dr Priya Ponnapalli, principal scientist at Amazon Machine Learning Solutions Lab. "What we've shown, I would say pretty definitively, is the relationship between years of play and risk of the disease," said Jesse Mez, Associate Professor of Neurology at Boston University. Mez hopes that the NFL will make more data available for study, "right now no helmet sensor data [is] made available to any investigators at universities.

BSc and MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science

#artificialintelligence

The University of Birmingham, Dubai, is inviting applications for its BSc and MSc courses in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a multidisciplinary field that connects computing, psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, mathematics and linguistics. Using state-of-the-art facilities in the new, technology enhanced'smart' campus, the degree programmes provide students with computing skills to enter industry, while also allowing them to acquire scientific skills in order to pursue research. The wide range of modules focus on areas of AI that interest students the most and will help kick-start a great career. Both the programmes by the university have been designed in such a way that people even from a variety of academic backgrounds can get upto speed with AI and computer science without any issues.
